Water leaking around lid of pool pump

It was just that we needed some pool lube around the o ring. Thanks everyone!

Water leaking around lid of pool pump

The labels are totally faded. I took this picture of the inside of the lid. I can say that when the o ring came loose, it was still in one piece and there were no obvious signs of a problem.

Water leaking around lid of pool pump

I lost a lot of water in my pool overnight and water is leaking around the lid of the pool pump. The black rubber ring did come loose on one of my many attempts to put the lid back on, but I placed it back into where it belongs. I don't see any cracks in the lid, but given the amount of water...

Adding DE- question regarding when to respond to increased pressure hours after adding

My pool is very cloudy after several weeks of a SLAM, so I followed the instructions on here to add DE to my sand filter. I determined the amount to add by slowly adding until there was an increase of 1 psi on the filter. My question is related to how to respond to increased pressure several...

Advice on length of time to commit to SLAM

Okay. Thanks. I'll try looking at that. Maybe I will backwash and add more DE this weekend too. There is no ladder in the pool and we removed the skimmer door. Also, I checked my CYA for the first time in 18 days at it's down from 40 to 30. Of course, I don't know when it went down, but I could...

Advice on length of time to commit to SLAM

I will check it. my guess is that it's about the same because the FC has been dropping much between water tests.

Yes it is. Also, I run the pump 24/7. Would it help to actually shut it off for a bit?

Advice on length of time to commit to SLAM

I started 3 weeks ago and it was green cloudy, but very minimal debris. It has recently turned green. I was checking it every 2-3 hours during the day until mid week last week and then every 3-6 hours. It's still being brushed daily and vacuumed regularly. Nothing is in the pool that could be...

Advice on length of time to commit to SLAM

Also, because I have been in SLAM for several weeks, the CYA could have lowered naturally, but I haven't checked it since starting because it's not accurate during SLAM

Advice on length of time to commit to SLAM

I am maintaining slam and yes, I followed the instructions on this site when adding DE and have not backwashed since.

Advice on length of time to commit to SLAM

I need more guidance. My pool is blue, but super cloudy and had been for several days. I followed the instructions on the site to add DE to the filter on Sunday and still no change. This SLAM has been going for weeks now and I'm feeling frustrated.

Advice on length of time to commit to SLAM

No, I'm on city water. My big issue at this point is that I'm scheduled for spine surgery next Tuesday and I thought I would have this under control by then. I can't do all this after.
