Scheduling pump for off-peak rates and solar heating

Yep. Not covering it is a waste of water too. It is shocking how much evaporates on a hot summer day. Yep. That's one of the reasons for replacing/adding them all together at the same time.

Scheduling pump for off-peak rates and solar heating

Absolutely! Getting a new controller is part of an overall effort to replace the ancient pool pump, spa pump (which is inoperable) adding a SWG and maybe adding a vacuum port.

Scheduling pump for off-peak rates and solar heating

Right now, liquid chlorine, manually added. A new controller however would be part of an overall system upgrade, which would include a SWG.

Scheduling pump for off-peak rates and solar heating

Yep - I figured that would be the catch. Since I have solar electric panels on my home an alternative would be: Run during the day as long as the sun is shining, otherwise make up the difference at night. It would be nice to use my own electricity when I can, and pay the minimum per kwh when I...

Scheduling pump for off-peak rates and solar heating

I'd like to run my pump during super-off-peak electric hours (midnight to 6am), but I need to run it mid-day for solar heating. What I imagine is a controller that would do this: 1) Normally run at night 2) Run mid-day only as long as my pool needs heating and the sun is out. 3) If the pump ran...

Robotic cleaner for tightly curved wall?

I've been doing research on robotic pool cleaners, and understand that they are able to climb curved walls on free-form pools as long as the curve is not "too tight". How tight a curve is too tight? I've tried calling manufacturers but haven't had any luck. The wall of my 8' diameter spa...
