    Hole in Concrete

I had my daughter post the photo of the hole in the bottom. She was unable to post a video. She also posted a photo of how the lights are pulled away -- should that be a concern?

    Hole in Concrete

I thought there was a hole. The concrete pool has a plaster on top which is almost 100% eroded. We epoxy paint every 3 or 4 years. The paint is now terribly flaked. Noticed a small chip in the paint and it oozed water. Our pool store said to grind it down to make the hole a bit larger and...

Help us replace Hayward skimmer in concrete

Herky - I'm familiar with Splash. I played miniature golf at that driving range in the 1970s. Thank you for the tip - Weston will be at our place Monday!

Help us replace Hayward skimmer in concrete

Herky - I would guess you're from Waterloo. I live in Marion but will be in CF this week for Sturgis. I will definitely contact Weston... and would love to see your pool if I can unless I can find photos of your pool on this site. We opted for paint only because it's our very best guess that...

Help us replace Hayward skimmer in concrete

The liner for $8,500 would be custom-fitted and installed. However, after contacting a concrete pool builder, and a pool supply store, both indicated that converting a concrete pool to a vinyl lined pool is asking for trouble with leakage.

Help us replace Hayward skimmer in concrete

inyopool tech support said that the Hayward SP1075 skimmer can be replaced, but we must first dig it out to know the size of fittings beneath. He said if we are considering a vinyl liner, then we would need to know this before replacing the skimmers. To repaint will be $5,500. We have...

Help us replace Hayward skimmer in concrete

I'm always the one who has to do the research for my husband. Advice really appreciated. Please don't suggest we call a pool company. In Iowa.. they come out, look at the pool, and shake their head and say, "Wow, I've never seen anything like this pool before." We hired the concrete decking...

    Disaster while removing concrete decking

Thank you for responding. Now that more concrete has been removed, it does appear that our shell is about 12 inches thick. They cut away but have found that the shell (wall) was poured like a step. The wall is like a stair step in that the first edging around the spa and maybe the rest of...

    Disaster while removing concrete decking

My husband asked that I get advice quickly. I'll take private text and emails if anyone wants to give an opinion. We have a concrete contractor at the our pool now removing some of the slabs surrounding our inground pool. These slabs have settled and we feared more settling will occur. Around...

    Another Hybrid Pool Question

I'm curious about how you've followed through with your repairs. We also have a hybrid pool and it has been a nightmare finding people who know what they're doing to hire for repairs. One estimate we received last week was above $50K. It doesn't even leak. It really only needs a few hairline...

Electric Bill HUGE - our pump is always on

Rastoma -- I'm delayed in responding to your comment, so I don't know how often you check back. It seems most people believe our electric bill is reasonable -- and I'm feeling better about this now. My husband said the pool people looked at our pool and suggested we back flush less often, so...
