I gave test results prior to starting slam... as results now wouldn’t be helpful. my pump runs 9 am to 6pm... SWG IS SET AT 50% this time a year. i was using 60 cya....which says min Fc is 3.... i guess i need to plan for higher ... although when i test... my chlorine has not dropped below 5...

If i can ever beat this thing i will vow to keep it higher in future.. i always thought the benefit of an SWG was being able to keep a lower chlorine level? 🤷🏼‍♀️ at this point Im gonna let the chlorine drop to 10 ...keep it there until after my 4 th of july party ....then start the slam...

Ps... sorry i also forgot to add i was using this chart for what to keep my chlorine levels.. i thought at 5 i was good ...

Thanks...i thought 60;was a good number for a SWG POOL.... ill let the rain dilute it more. so what can i possibly be fighting that i cant see?

after finding this site.... i truly had a trouble free pool for a long time..... but this past year has been a struggle. I repeatedly have slight algae... it shows up one day when i do my normal brushing of the sides. I get a slight green cloud. So I SLAM it...... after several day I pass...

Thanks Chris... I thought I had been keeping it higher than needed.... the CYA chart for SWG pools doesn’t list a SLAM chlorine target for 50 CYA? Yes... pool looks good until I brush... then I get. Pale green cloud and a little green blush on some walls in the shade

Ok...so i guess i should just leave my CYA at 50 and start the slam?

I usally test with k-1000 avery other day ir so...I use the FAS-DPD when i run full results once a week or so....what iw as saying is the the k-1000 has show chlorine to be in the highest range it measures...it has not dropped at all which is why I'm wondering what imdid wrong to end up with...
