    Algae Problems - pool service guy said I may have to drain my pool!!!

    You may need to backwash more than once depending on how bad the algae problem is. Once the algae is killed it is filtered out hence the PSI going up. I like to tear mine down with each backwash so I know exactly how much DE to add because it does not all flush out with a backwash.
