intex metal frame (ultra) cleanup issue

I got a couple of the large pool noodles and have cut them down in length to make pieces which fit into the gaps where the liner drops down below the rail. I also cut a longitudinal slit in the noodle. Since the rail is thick the noodle cannot fit around the rail. Put the whole noodle section...

    Cicada's and your pool

Normally I try and get the Ultra setup by memorial day to give me time to fill, balance and get warm by the time school is over for the summer. Here in Pa we are still awaiting the 17yr cicada's to emerge. Since many of you further south along the eastern seaboard have already been invaded by...

    Intex hose nuts

Yes, I used the Cantex/Carlon box adapters with the split plunger nuts. Have 4 split nuts total, 2 from the original plungers and 2 additional split nuts that came in the 2650 filter package. With a seperate salt water system you then need 2 additional nuts to hard plumb from the sand filter...

    Intex hose nuts

Since Intex basically sells every part but the split nuts or hose nuts, I was trying to figure out a way to hard plumb the pool and not have to sacrifice my hoses. I finally got a 2650 sand filter, and boy I am glad I did. What a huge difference it makes and I can actually vacuum the dirt off...

    Location of skimmer

I know the subject of cutting the liner and installing a hard plumbed skimmer has been broached in a few other posts. The question of the location of the skimmer has also been discussed and if I remember correctly crookm11 on his first 16' intex ultra pool kind of wished he hadn't installed the...

    The Good News Is....

Oh WOW! Glad it was only the pool and not the house and everybody was ok. As others have said, save the parts if you are going to replace with the same model. If you are going to upgrade, ebay or craigslist whatever parts you cannot use, sell the firewood if you don't have a fireplace and...

Advice for take down and preparing for winter storage

Time to put the pool away for the winter. After drawing the water down in prep for the hurricane, then getting 7 inches of rain from it plus lots of evergreen needle debris blown into the pool it is time to take it down for the winter since the water temps just aren't coming back up...

Second Return and Fountain for Intex Pool

jsf065 - great job! This is the next thing I aspire to do, prefering the sprinkler outside the pool too. Quick question, why put the ball valve below the standard return? Wouldn't putting it above the return before the sprinkler head allow you to turn off the sprinkler when you don't want it...

    Intex Cooling Wall/Fountain

Newbie here. Finally got our pool up a couple of weeks ago, I'll have to add a pic in a new thread later on. Been lurking and learning a ton from you guys, THANK YOU! Anyway I was inspired to try and add on a fountain from crookm's mods since it has been hot here to in the northeast. I happened...
