Unfortunately the sta rite doesnt have a garden hose so now trying to figure out how to direct water away.

We have had tons of rain in the northeast and I need to lower my pool water level by a few inches. I have a sta-rite cartridge filter if I open the drain plug on the back of it and let filter run is there any harm?

I think this is what I will end up doing. Some folks mentioned that the pentair intelliflo VS pump/motor do work with iAquaLink so will try to find that first. Worst case like you mentioned turn it on using aqua link and control speed via the pump directly.

Oh wow, I have wasted hours trying to plug that hole… thanks for this guess the leak is probably from the seal will try replacing again nothing else makes sense

Thats what I tried, used JB weld but for some reason still leaking. Trying to confirm if that is the cause of the leak or if its something else.

And if I got a VS pump that wasn’t Jandy my understanding is I could still turn it off and on using iAquaLink just not control speed which I could set at the pump itself.

Makes sense, probably why I can control my current Sta Rite fixed speed pump via iAquaLink. So that should be a straight swap and probably my best bet with the shortage in pumps currently.

I changed the seal but the leak persists. I found a small crack on the pump and used some epoxy to seal it but not sure if it’s the cause of the leak regardless motor is still leaking. I am ok with replacing the pump and motor. The pool store mentioned I have to get a Jandy since other brands...

I haven't been able to locate a Jandy VS Pump. One of the local pool shops mentioned that I cant use any other VS pump like the Pentair or Hayward wont be able to communicate with the Jandy Iaqualink. Is this really the case?
