During SLAM, would you at least close and open the pool cover daily, or a couple times daily so the bottom touches the high clorine level, to treat the bottom of the cover? Of course in addition to the backwash and brushing walls, etc.

With the CYA at 80, if I SLAM, should I backwash to get rid of water and refill to decrease the CYA level? Full readings this AM are: pH 7.2 FC 16.5 (was 20 at bedtime) CC 0 TC 16.5 Alk 80 pH 7.2 CYA 80 Pool still slightly cloudy. Maybe a little less.

The pool did not pass the OCLT test. I haven't backwashed since it was open. Any possibility that would work or is SLAM my only option? I just find it so odd that it happened so quickly and I don't have an explanation.

So, if I set it on 100%, the light should always stay on. Not that I want it at 100%, but just as a TEST.

Intellichlor 40 , only a few years old. All lights are green except the Cell Light. Salt level light is green on the Intellichlor and by my testing. Flow light is green. When I bump up the % chlorine production, the cell light comes on, but then the next time I check it, the cell light is off...
