Help please, new salt water pool, first time testing

Retested my water again today and I lost about 3ppm in FC. I plan to add in liquid chlorine again to get it to 6-7ppm base on the chart on where my CYA is at. My CYA is reading about 32ppm right now. PH is still at about 8.0 but since it’s a new pool with plaster, I don’t think I have to be...

Help please, new salt water pool, first time testing

Thanks Jim. I’ll retest tomorrow and see if additional chlorine is needed. Is it typical to add chlorine daily to maintain that ppm? I’m waiting on the PB to confirm when they will add salt and turn it on. I’m hoping in 1-2 weeks.

Help please, new salt water pool, first time testing

I just retested my pool chemistry with the following results: FC: 4.4 ppm PH: 8.0 TA: 50 I did not proceed with any other test. Any suggestions on whether I need to add more chlorine or test calcium and CYA?

Help please, new salt water pool, first time testing

I added the chlorine in as suggested. How long do I wait before testing the water again?

Help please, new salt water pool, first time testing

Our pool is about 31 days old now and pool school is complete and was maintained by the contracted service company for 3 weeks. We tested the water with the Taylor K-2006 kit for the first time today. I used the TFP app and watch some you tube videos to learn how to accurately measure it. I’m...

    Jandy ePump vs VSFlopro 1.85hp?

Thanks for the response. My contract stated I should be getting the Jandy ePump 2.7hp. I asked the builder to replace it based on your response, thanks!

    Jandy ePump vs VSFlopro 1.85hp?

Our new pool is under construction and equipment was hooked up this past weekend. On my bid, I was suppose to get a Jandy ePump but the builder installed the new VS Flopro 1.85hp. Does anyone know the difference between these two and is one better than the other? I’m getting an L shape geometric...

Bid Review - L Shape Pool

Should I ask my PB to only quote with Jandy Fusion Salt without the nature2 mineral system then? I plan on asking for the equipment model numbers after I collect all the feedback and questions.

Bid Review - L Shape Pool

Thank you! Yes, 4.5’ at the deep end is correct. I have a small yard and for every foot, I have to have an equal setback from the house. That would cut into the width of the pool. Right now, it’s 10’ wide on the narrow side. Another thing is I’m only 5’1 and my husband is 5’8, anticipating my...

Bid Review - L Shape Pool

Hi there, I'm looking for assistance to review this bid to see if this looks solid. About a year ago, I was actively researching pools and getting bids but covid happened and I stopped. This new bid I got is from a smaller pool builder and they use Jandy equipment. I'm not really familiar...

    Water feature opinion?

Any opinions on water features? Must have, nice to have, don’t get one? What feature would you recommend? I’m in DFW area by the way. Planning a max pool depth of 4.5’.

    Pool only no decking?

Thank you! I’ve been perusing this forum and trying to make sense all the recommendation but with so many equipment, they all get confusing. I will go back to the PB and re-quote some of those changes. I definitely prefer not to have a spa but the husband is adamant about putting one in. I...

    Pool only no decking?

I’m back with my 3 pool bids from lowest to highest. From a design perspective, I’m just looking for the basic. I’m willing to sacrifice upgrades to save on cost or diy later on. My husband and fil is pretty handy and we are comfortable doing a lot of work ourselves or getting subs to finish...
