Liner Wrinkles Around Bottom Drain. Why ? How to clean?

Attached are pics of the bottom drain. It appears the vinyl liner is wrinkling around the drain making it difficult to clean. Don't want to scrub to hard as I don't want to crack a wrinkle thus cutting the liner. This has been there for a few years but slowly getting worse -pool liner 11...

DE to a Sand Filter Vs. Chemical Approach

I have never inspected the sand filter. I just read the link you provided. Last time sand filter was changed was May 2007. Reads like that should be my next step.

DE to a Sand Filter Vs. Chemical Approach

I have a 23,000 gallon in-ground vinyl liner swimming. Pool is slow (almost two weeks) in clearing. I can now see shallow bottom and slightly down the drop but still not able to see drain at 8 feet down. I am able to hold chlorine and PH at any level I need (Shock or normal) for extended...

Time Vs. Keeping A Higher CL Level

All, Thanks for your inputs. I will adjust my monitoring / dosing to twice a day. Thanks again

Time Vs. Keeping A Higher CL Level

Pool slowly turning from pea green to blue but cloudy. Running pump at high speed 24 hrs per day, scrub liner except bottom drain area until I can see it, and pool solar cover on during daytime to minimize chlorine burn off. Do shock harder or give it more time? Day 1 - Pool opened and...

    Algae or Something Else

All. Thanks for the help. A. I have never done any metal sequestrate in the 10 yrs I own the pool and have only added small amounts of well water a few times this years. The more I look at the issue and will do the Vitamin C test this weekend I believe the stains are iron related. B. I...

    Algae or Something Else

The stains are algae and the pool is constantly having a green tint. -keeping the CL at 12 ppm -never any CC, PH is spot on -CYA is 60 -do not lose chlorine overnight -cover the pool with solar blanket during the day so a to minimize CL loss -CL loss is 2 to 3 ppm if cover is on during the day...

    Algae or Something Else

-Pool has been very clear for the last month since I been keeping the pool covered with a solar blanket, using liquid chlorine and keeping CL at about 9.0 ppm. -Since Sunday pool has a green tint. So I shock to 25 ppm and turn pump to full speed 24 hrs. Pool holds chlorine over night and...

    Chlorine Usage

Thanks. Your correct that high CYA is not causing my lose in Chlorine. So OCLT test was good. Will a solar cover during the day slow chlorine consumption? Will the solar cover cause other issue.

    Chlorine Usage

Appreciate the quick response. I use the FAS-DPD method for CYA measurements. Is there a better CYA measurement method to get a better CYA as that is the only thing I can think of ... CYA higher than I am reading .... then I would need to drain some water to get the CYA back down.
