    Question regarding mounting solar reel

Sorry, no one replied to you. I have an 18 ft intex pool so I don't have the standard above ground pool top rail. I thought about buying a reel and mounting to posts, but I didn't want to see anything above the pool, so I built my own solar cover holder out of PVC pipes. I've tweaked the...

    Mr. Clean Magic Erasers?

Magic erasers are what I use on my Intex pool too! They are amazing! I also used them on my white fiberglass pool at my last house. They were fantastic on that as well.

How are you guys vacuuming your Intex with the new dual inlets?

I unscrew the white intex pipe from the split plunger valve and put my vacuum right in it. I'll try to get pics today when I vacuum.

Drain vs cleaning up my swamp each year

If it's not costing you for water and your pool is stable enough without water, I'd probably drain & refill each season. In Michigan, our pool season is basically Memorial Day to Labor Day, so I open my pool on May 1st, so it gives me a few weeks to get it clear before Memorial Day. I had an...

    Solar cover

Yes! I started using a solar cover a few weeks ago. It has made such a difference to the warm of my pool, and I don't loose hardly any water overnight due to evaporation anymore. win, win!

    How to keep pool warm?

Save the $10.00 and put it towards a solar cover. You won't regret it! My pool is up to 90° today!

    How to keep pool warm?

I'm in the mitten too and my pool is at 86°. I use a solar cover. It just a thin, cheap one, but it does the job. If I didn't have a solar cover, I'd use a dark tarp. But the cost of a tarp that size is 1/2 or more than the cost of a solar cover.

AG pool decision....easy set, metal frame, or ultra?

Ultra Frame for sure! If you've got room for 18', definitely go with 18'. Remember, pool height is not water height/depth, so a 48" depth pool would be good, but if you get a deal on a 52" pool, go with it, as the water level would only be about 46" and you could keep the water a bit lower...

My take on the PVC poolside table

Sweet! Thanks for sharing! I was playing with PVC last week and have some leftovers. I might give something like this a go!

    Trouble picking a pool builder

Pool won't be usable until next summer anyway, so time shouldn't be an issue, IMO. Have you seen both guys' work? When I had a fiberglass pool installed at the my last house, the two local fiberglass guys gave me lists of people that I could contact, and I went and looked at a few of the...

    Trouble picking a pool builder

I'm assuming that if you're going to the expense of putting in an IG pool you're planning on staying in the house for quite a while? (I put in an IG pool at my last house and then when my kids both went away to college & then subsequently moved out of state for jobs, & I did what I thought I'd...

    Inyo Pump "Sale"

Hi neighbour! Sorry, I don't have experience with either pump. But I do have experience with murphy's law and things going wrong when you least expect it or want them to. Just based on being able to run to a local pool supply store and get an o-ring when I need it, I would personally go...
