How high should I fill mine? To the top of the checkered pattern?

I had read elsewhere that this pump was not strong enough (but that might have been for larger pools than this). Also, PowerFlo is single speed.

Now the filter housing plug is leaking and the J B Waterweld was not the right thing to use. (I had to scrape off what I put on this morning). Maybe some Gorilla Glue on the dirt catcher and Teflon tape on the plug will work. I'll probably wait until tomorrow.

The cartridge does indeed fit over it, but I don't know that water flows through it first. I got some J B Waterweld at the Home Depot this evening. I'm planning to take apart the filter assembly and see if I can fix it (it is broken apart at the base).

I asked: Should I replace the dirt catcher AGAIN (just did this 2 years ago) or can I glue it back together?? $80 is a lot to me right now. I guess no one knows. I'm turning off the pump since all it seems to do is eat electricity.
