    Good test results…but turning green

Just an awesome update in case somebody searches and reads this. Couple days of Slam changed it all! Pool is completely clear. PLUS, I’ve reduced my pump run time by 3.5 hrs AND reduced the SWG by 20%, and I’m still on the high side for FC!

    Good test results…but turning green

Haven’t had that issue since I fixed a leak a month or so ago. I can’t say WHY, but I can say it just appears on the edge of a bloom any day. Levels look great. Had to have something to do with the rain we’ve been getting I’m guessing. Either way I started the Slam tonight. And adjusted TA a...

All good thoughts. SWG running from 0800-1900. Testing in the evening as the sun starts down.

    Good test results…but turning green

Really wonder when that could have happened. I’ve been keeping a good check and very little fluctuations. Other than adjusting Ph and bumping cya up a little

    Good test results…but turning green

Am I reading the pool math calculator wrong? For a SWG pool I’m reading min 3 goal 4. Am I wrong?

    Good test results…but turning green

Really been trying to follow the guidelines here but she’s beating me still. We’ve been getting rain a couple times a week. No organic material to speak of though. Test results remain steady. But the sides keep greening up. Brush it off. Comes right back. Mostly on the sides but pretty much...

    Cloudy and little green.

And then follow the calculator to correct other things? I'll slam it but out of curiosity, shouldn't the FC be going down? Just want to learn more

    Cloudy and little green.

I wouldn't say green. Actually looking at it now I'd say cloudy. Plus my FC never changes at 40%, 8 hrs a day. Still slam?

But at least I have test results! LOL Rains everyday. Stays a little cloudy/greenish. Seems to have more sediment than usual. FC 6 CC 0 Ph 7.7 Alk 50 Ca 70 CYA 50 Ive put these numbers in the calculator and can follow that if it's recommended. Just wanted an opinion first please

    New guy...cloudy water

Thanks for all the help everybody. I've learned a lot this year and will use it for a long time. More to learn I'm sure!

So, adding the DE worked like a charm. Within a couple of days the pool was clear. I backwashed once when I noticed the pressure required it. Replaced the DE after that and haven't needed to since. I've got so much DE (14 lbs for $25 I think) that I will likely just keep adding DE after a backwash

Does make sense and I will do that the next time I have the top off. Do I need to perform another SLAM if the water is clearing and the FC is holding steady?

    New guy...cloudy water

As of today, current readings. ph 7.4 FC 7 TA 80 CA 80 CYA 60 water has cleared a little as the days go by. Remains on 24 hrs. I have attempted to locate DE at multiple pool stores in two different cities.....and they all seem confused and of course don't have any. Ordering from Amazon unless...
