Is my vinyl liner damaged permanently from stains?

If you decide to "endure the ugliness" over winter, is there a risk of permanent staining from algae or anything like that? Sent from my GT-N7105T using Tapatalk 2

    TF-100 order from TD Chlorinators

Great. I think certain pool shops like to get the CYA levels right up to sky high, then have some real fun selling you snake oil and hocus pocus when your water starts behaving unpredictable. I was cleaning out some old receipts yesterday and found a receipt for a bucket of Bioguard Smart...

newly filled pool -start up chemicals.

Yep bleach is liquid chlorine. You need some in there ASAP! CYA is like sunscreen for your chlorine. Without CYA your chlorine will disappear very quickly due to sunlight. Trichlor and dichlor contain CYA and you can probabley get some in there and it will help raise your CYA until you...

    TF-100 order from TD Chlorinators

Good to hear. What is your CYA level at now? Once I got my CYA level where I wanted it, along with testing the water myself - so easy!

    Bulk Pool Chemicals In Australia

Try and find an internet bulk supplier that operates in Brisbane. They might do pick up... I found one in Melbourne and it is a good deal -15 litres hydrocloric acid $29 Calcium hardness - 25kg bag 55 bucks etc. 25kg bags of sodium bicarbinate pretty cheap etc. Check them out to get an idea...

Drained 80%; 3/4 full now; can't wait to get balancing!

I will answer this question by hijacking a pinned post at the start of the BBB section... 1) more stable pH I have found my pH to be extremely stable. So stable in fact that I have a used hardly any of a 15 litre bottle of acid I bought 5 months ago. Even when I shock the pool the pH doesn't...

New Here would like some assistance!

+1 for staying away from the pool store. [in Australia] I get my 12% bleach from Bunnings once I am sure it is a fresh batch, or if I am in a rush can get bottles of bleach from Aldi pretty cheap. I would like to pick up on the comment about spraying the covers with chlorine/bleach though. I...

Any disadvantages to using dry acid?

Not all chlorine in powder form changes CYA levels. I don't believe calcium hypochlorite changes CYA levels.

Shipping TF 100 test kit to Australia

Hi Lily, The best way to contact them is through email. I don't know why but they don't really do much business by phone. You will find they will answer your email though! Good luck!

Newbie going BBB and Borates - Hi from Tassy

+1 for not trusting the CYA level of 2. Doesn't sound right. Nor does CH = 22, sounds a bit weird too. I wouldn't add the CYA until you do the test when you get your kit from TDChlorinators (Good choice there, I did the same.) You don't need to add the muriatic acid if you are using boric...

I think it is going good, anybody give me a second opionion?

Re: I think it is going good, anybody give me a second opion Thanks for the reply! Just went away for holiday interstate and dosed up the chlorine to shock level before leaving. Got back from 6 days away and the free chlorine is still at 12 and the pool looks really good. I'm really happy...

I think it is going good, anybody give me a second opionion?

I have been using BBB for a month and a half and everything seems great... Water is crystal clear and never looked so good.... Today's test results: Fc = 4 TA = 70 CH = 60 CYA = 30 PH = 7.2 I struggled with the CH test at first but am certain I have got it right after reading about fading...
