Water CH is >600 along with black algae

so the CH has been climbing steadily the last few years, other issues I'm dealing with - black algae too. last year after the rains there was an inflow of mud into the pool. a lot of mud. it took me a while to clean it ( I procrastinated). I also made some poor decisions on chemicals - using...

cleaner gets stuck rolling over the intake.

Not sure there is anything I can do about this - other than getting a different style cleaner. thought it was funny though. the darn machine keeps rolling onto the intake on the bottom of the pool and getting stuck - wheels just spin.

will hayward swg prologic control a Circupool

Hi, I have a hayward swg prologic 8 with swg, which I've replaced the cell a few times in the past 10 years. For the past two I've just used LC when the cell died after a year and hayward wouldn't help. There seems to be a lot going for the Circupool products. Do they have a drop in replacement...

hayward sp3200dr has died. is it repairable?

@JamesW Thanks. I will call Tuesday. I'm not too excited about spending the money on either pump replace or drive replacement. Maybe Hayward will give me warranty remedy. @tstex well it seems the drive is the smarts for the pump. Its a component like anything else. There is definitely a...

hayward sp3200dr has died. is it repairable?

I talked to a service guy and he's suggesting that the cost to replace the drive is almost as much as replacing the pump. Suggesting that seals, bearings also need to be replaced. Is that true?

hayward sp3200dr has died. is it repairable?

Hi, The voltage between L1 and L2 is 240v. I do control the pump from the Prologic. The comm lines are both good. But the motor controller complains there's no signal from the prologic. I had someone out to look at it and they suggested the motor controller was the likely issue. Pump is...

hayward sp3200dr has died. is it repairable?

I've read those reviews .. dismal. My pump is about 4 years. 1year out of warranty? I'm not looking forward to another hayward pump. Is the Tristar VSP any better - reviews seem to say so. How long do these pumps last? And what do I do with the carcass of this dead pump?

hayward sp3200dr has died. is it repairable?

Decided to replace the pump. The old pump is the Hayward SP3200DR, should I stay with a hayward or choose something else- like a Pentair vsp pump. Thanks.

hayward sp3200dr has died. is it repairable?

@crabboy ya, definitely want to make sure to disconnect power! well, i was able to turn the spindle. but power does not make the spindle turn. :( I don't see any capacitor on this pump. I will try a motor repair place. At this point, it's probably easier to just replace the thing.
