I've been noticing a small pile of what I thought was dirt accumulating in the corner of the pool a few days after I brush. I took a closer look the last couple weeks, and there's definitely pebbles from the pebble tec in there. This has been occurring for a while...not sure how long exactly...

I try to measure the sample size out to the line, but from what I've read throughout this forum the sample size is not critical for the pH test. Unless I'm way off in my measurements, the color should be the same. I have tried one or two less drops of reagent, but it doesn't make a difference...

I have both Taylor ph test kits, the 44ml block used with R0004, and the small block used with R0014 reagent. I've noticed that I get different readings with each kit. The R0004 usually measures 0.2 higher than the R0014, sometimes more. In the pH test, 0.2 is a big difference. I realize...

In case anyone was curious... The plaster company checked out the divot in the pool floor today. That "rock" was actually a seed. He said they see this pretty often. The wind will blow a seed into the mixture and it gets applied without anyone noticing. They patched the divot, and it looks like new.

In Phoenix, we have the same problem of high CH fill water and little rain. So our CH level is steadily rising. My PB recommends partially draining the pool every off season by 1/3 to keep the CH level in check. I'm curious...what's everyone's thoughts about that method?

And yes I still see the plaster in the chipped out area. There's a black rock in the middle. Doesn't look like the typical rocks in pebble tec.

Yes, shotcrete. Finish is pebble tec sheen. I'll contact the pb in the morning.
