    Is this impeller broken?

Here is the update I promised, hopefully someone else who runs into this problem will find this thread through a search and be able to fix their problem as quickly and easily as I did with this forum's help. Everything went as planned. Bought new impeller and "go kit" (replacement seal kit)...

    Is this impeller broken?

Is this what gets removed? do the red lines show where the two terminals I need to bridge are? This has been without power for 5 hours and by the time I get to it tomorrow it will be 16 hours at least. Does that cut down on the shock coming from the capacitor?

    Is this impeller broken?

Wow, great info, thanks so much. So removing the capacitor is my only way of holding the shaft? If so that is ok but melting screwdrivers scares me a little. Any additional info on that would be real helpful. I will order the impeller and seal kit tonight.

    Is this impeller broken?

I am staying away from the capacitor then as my electrical knowledge stops at the level of being able to connect and disconnect something like this. Oh and change a lightbulb.

    Is this impeller broken?

Here are some pics. This is a setup for my inground spa- it is basically setup as a small pool as it has similar equipment. This is an old setup and it works fine so I don't want to replace anything unecessarily. I replaced the entire pump assembly on the pool and added a heater to both pool...

Another question...How do I find the correct model number for the impeller I need to order? Google has not helped much with my search, thanks.

    Is this impeller broken?

Thanks for the quick replies. Can you imagine that the guy at Leslies saw this and did not know it was a broken piece? I guess you can imagine that since it is Leslies. Anyway, if anyone knows how to properly remove the broken piece without damaging the shaft please let me know the trick...

    Is this impeller broken?

Working on an AO Smith US1202 motor and pump. It runs but does not pump. Took it apart and brought to Leslies pools as they do a bench test for free. THey said it is fine but the problem persists. Here are some pics of what I think the problem is. I cannot find a good picture online of what...

St. Paul Pool Uses Moss To Reduce Chlorine Use

The more I read about this the more interesting it sounds. I would love to hear some feedback from users here if anyone knows about this. Maybe I will try it next year.

St. Paul Pool Uses Moss To Reduce Chlorine Use

Here is a link to the company website. I am interested in how you would measure it's effectiveness and how you know when to replace the "pads". They give you a time when they should be replaced but it should be based on run time and usage I would think, not just time in days. I guess I just...

Algae bloom - How!? Everything going so well

I have the 380-not 360- and, yes, I do have a booster pump that goes through a dedicated return line. The kids pull it out before they swim and put it back after. I empty the bag when it is full and thats it. It was recommended to me by three guys in my neighborhood who all have the same...

Algae bloom - How!? Everything going so well

I don't know where you heard Polaris doesn't work well but I will give them a big recommendation. I run mine while my pump runs and the pool is always clean and ready to use. Be sure to brush your pool as well, you may have a dead spot at the bottom (as someone else noted) that gets little...

How much FC loss is a concern

It is my understanding you are talking about losing the 3-4ppm overnight?? If so... You should test at night, after the sun sets- 1 hour after lst added chlorine and turn off anything that adds chlorine (swg, chlorinator etc). Then test again in the am before the sun hits your pool. If it...
