Polaris "wheel threads" came off. Repairable?

That was an amazing suggestion! Why didn't I think of that? I didn't think of removing the bottom of the cleaner to see how it was made. Turns out that this particular wheel can easily have bolts going through, which doesn't appear to the case for the other wheels. Thank you!

Polaris "wheel threads" came off. Repairable?

Hi, At the worst time of the year for me, a wheel came off from my Polaris 280 and was surprised by what happened: it's actually the brass threads of the cleaner body into which the wheels screw into that came out. Has anyone experienced this? Can this be repaired? Given the cost of these...

Closing a pool with no cover in Canada / cold climates

I've been doing this for many years, but reconsidering this year. - Keep the pool running until almost freezing temperatures (perhaps end of November) - Meanwhile, try to keep the pool clean with constant use of Polaris clean and skimmer basket clearing, given we get a lot of leaves falling in...

    SLAM not working?

Thanks for your support! - I wasn't aware that I needed to round up to 40 for CYA factoring when around 35, so 12 PPM of chlorine was too low! - Brushing: I NEED to do this based on your comments, period. What do you think about closing the skimmer to better suck the stuff being brushed? -...

    SLAM not working?

When I opened the pool about a month ago (from green soup), everything progressed as usual and the water was fairly clear (not perfect). I had to leave for a week so asked SO to add "some chlorine" daily and let me know if water was getting worst, which it didn't according to her. During that...

Need new pump: VS with solar panels?

So I installed the new V-Green 165 motor, which went without a hitch. Here are my observations so far: 1. It is very loud at full speed, so if I needed to run this like a single speed, I would probably try something else. 2. I don't know if it's a power thing, but I noticed that my sand filter...

Need new pump: VS with solar panels?

That's good news since that's exactly what I have, a Intermatic mechanical timer. I just placed the order, so hoping to have this setup working in a couple weeks. Thanks for all the help!

Need new pump: VS with solar panels?

Looks good. My HP is 1.5 and SF 1.0, so the V-Green 165 should have enough power and they sell a Super Pump version to make sure it mates well is my existing wet end.

Need new pump: VS with solar panels?

Ok, so while comparing the pros and cons of ordering online a cheaper Pentair without warranty or a more expensive Hayward with 3-year warranty, I took a look at the "V-Green" motor that I saw in one of the threads. This option is about 50% cheaper and seems to function like the Pentair for...

Variable speed pump and solar panel bubble question

Ok, so if I understand correctly, you either: 1. Buy a plastic GX16 8-pin adapter that will fit after taking some material off 2. Buy a complete connector kit a actually replace the connector on the pump side. If I understand option 2 correctly, has anyone posted details on how to remove the...

Need new pump: VS with solar panels?

Yep... looking at that wiring diagram, it seems straightforward. The pump is 250$ more expensive however, and it feels like the Pentair might have an edge on longevity? But maybe Hayward has a better warranty. Processing...

Need new pump: VS with solar panels?

I would say that the first section of solar panels is 16' above the pump, and the second section 24'. So seems like it's not that high, but need to take a step back to understand those charts o_O But this pump/brand seems to have supplies issues. I'll check if Hayward has anything similar...

Variable speed pump and solar panel bubble question

Argh... you're right, it seems like it's nowhere to be found, which makes me question if this is the right brand for me. But I would be absolutely be interested in making my own cable if that's the only showstopper! Do you have the link to that thread by any chance?

Variable speed pump and solar panel bubble question

I just saw this post and I had already started one here: Need new pump: VS with solar panels? I also have a GL-235, aligning to buy the Pentair Superflo VS and I definitely think now that it can switch the pump speed.
