New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

When I ordered from Marina Pools, Margaret discussed this exact point. She recommended the regular filter if you primarily have large debris and leaves. She stated that it’s possible when filling up the basket with leaves, there could be a reduction in suction or vacuuming efficiency with the...

New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

It happened only once and was just one small Pine needle that somehow made it through to the impeller. I think the risk of debris getting to the impeller is low. The impeller seems very well protected.

I don’t. But I think the VRX iQ doesn’t have tracks right? These seem more similar to the EVO 614 IQ. Note they are made by the same manufacturer, Fluidra, but just a different brand. Polaris PCX™ 868 iQ Polaris EPIC™ 8642 iQ Here is a list of the Polaris robotic pool cleaners...

New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

Marina only sells two options when looking under parts. Perhaps there is a middle option that isn’t sold yet.

There is an arrow on the side of the filter that points to the grid size of the filter medium. What does your arrow point to? See link below for background. Mine points to the finest squares. TBH my swapped fine filter media looks very similar to others so I’m not really sure if there is a...

I’m not sure on part number, but I believe it comes with the standard filter. When purchasing the robot, Marina will swap the standard with the finer filter option if you ask.

This is the price I paid (no tax and free 2 day shipping). I also asked them to swap the standard filter with the ultra fine filter, which was no additional cost

Thanks Jim, I noticed that a few pine needles made their way into the impeller. I was able to use needle nose pliers to remove them without removing the shroud though.

Thanks. So to confirm, is the entire black shroud plastic is threaded to the base of the robot? I tried twisting it now but it didn’t turn.

That was a good idea. Too bad the gyro is trying to correct it. It would be good to submit feedback to support to see if they can adjust the angle in the programming when performing water line cleaning.

Jim nice pics. How do you remove the shroud off the impeller? Mine seems to be on there pretty tight and don’t want to damage it.

Most robotic cleaners follow a similar pattern on cleaning wall surfaces randomly. I think eventually, after enough cycles, the cleaner will clean the majority of the wall and waterline.

New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

I got my EVO614IQ about a month ago. It seems to work very well in picking up fine debris and leaves. I purchased it at Marina Pool and asked for the free swap from the standard to the ultra-fine filter. The canister is super easy to clean out. Just dump out the loose debris and shake out...
