Ok so the pool store called and it is the spider gasket and something with the handle as well. So they could rebuild it for 85 or get me a new one for 120. I chose to get a new one for 120 and it will be here in 3 days. Thanks for all the help.

I took my valve off and brought it to my local pool place where they are actually very knowledgeable. They said they are 99% sure it is some problem with the valve. Possibly the spider gasket, if I even have a removeable one. Or possibly the whole valve is bad. The issue is that the pool is set...

Ok so the last time I put chlorine in was about 18 hours ago. I just checked it and it is still at very close to 14, so I highly doubt the chlorine is a problem. I will try some DE today if I can get my hands on some.

Also how do I tell if the spider gasket is bad or not? Would that cause my problem of the filter not trapping particles? And as far as I can see there is not any sand being blown back into the pool through the return line.

I replaced the sand 4 days ago with 175 pounds of filter sand. The laterals looked fine and the tank looked fine as well. There was no channeling in the old sand, but since I had it open I replaced the sand anyway. New sand is 4 days old and still no difference, and pressure has not risen. Not...

The pressure has NEVER risen above 6-7 psi this year. That is why I posted here because I can't understand why the pressure will not rise in the filter tank. Usually it will rise to about 12-16 and I backwash and all green water comes out. NEVER happened this year, even after brand new filter...

Just tested free chlorine is at almost 14. I test again in 4 hours and add more of needed. I will do this for the next few days and let you guys know how it goes. I highly doubt this will make any difference, but I hope you guys are correct!

I have a TF100 test kit and a 24 foot round above ground pool with a 19inch sand filter with a 1hp pump. It is about 12-13000 gallons.
