    Oxygen Pools?

Just saw an ad for "oxygen sanitation" for pools. Claims to eliminate the need for chlorine and associated chems... Thoughts? Maybe for small AG pools?

Adding CYA directly to pool filter

I need to clean my cartridge filter and then I was going to add CYA for the season. Since CYA works by getting stuck in the filter, could you just add it mixed in a bucket of water to the open filter housing?? Anyone try this? Am I crazy? I need to do around 5lbs of CYA...

1st Pool Opening On Our Own

I don't buy anything at leslie's...They are overpriced compared to online/local big box stores. I just use them to check my results on tests...and a salt reading. I only use chl tabs in the floater during the winter when my SWG is offline. I have it attached to my normally unused pool rope...

1st Pool Opening On Our Own

Ya...CYA. I've haven't had luck with that Crud. Tried to add it last year and it went from slightly cloudy, to just a bit more cloudy. The measurement seems objective and leslies is hit or miss. I guess I'm just trying to see when I should start pool perfect, do the filter clean (I have a...

Robot Cleaner Gets Stuck on Main Drains

Hey guys, I have a Pentair robot cleaner (Kreepy Krauly Prowler 920) that came with my new pool. It works great, except that it gets stuck on the main drains in the deep end. A little tug on the line will do the trick, but I cant let it work overnight, unsupervised. My builder even sent me...

1st Pool Opening On Our Own

Hey guys! I have a 20k pebble-tec pool that has been running all winter in GA. To deal with the low temp and no SWG, I used chlorine tablets in a floating dispenser that I attached to our pool rope (which I don't use during swim season). Anyway, the chlorine levels have started to drop as the...

    1st Winter with Pool...Various Questions

Hello everyone! I have a few questions on what to do for closing a pool in the south. I live in South Atlanta, so we do get a few weeks of freezing weather, even dipping into single digits. I have a shockcrete pool with a spa waterfall that is always on for water circulation. All equipment...

    Water hardness increase products

All set...so the question was is using the ice melt product safe for pool use as a hardner. If I use the ice melt, is it the same concentration as a typical pool hardner? Those products have charts on how much to use (I need about 12lbs to raise it by 60). I just didn't want to but the ice...

    Water hardness increase products

Hey guys, so my hardness is 170 and I think its time to raise it to 230. My question is what do you guys use? I see that Calcium Chloride is the active chemical in most hardness UP products; snow ice melt bags have the same chemical (and much cheaper). What is the general consensus to using...

PebbleSheen salt water pool needs muriatic acid twice a week...is that normal?

Well the stocking started to rip, so i ended up using my net and squeezing it out. At the halfway point, i put the sock in my skimmer with the hose to wash it down. Had some granules make it to the bottom, so i brushed the pool. Seems to be clear now...how long before it will show up in a...

PebbleSheen salt water pool needs muriatic acid twice a week...is that normal?

Is this the best way to add CYA? There seems to be a few schools of thought about this subject. The bucket of CYA says to broadcast or add to skimmer directly. If it makes a difference, I have a cartridge filter and 2 skimmers.
