What's wrong with my PH reading?

Oookay... I saw the 31.45% and also one that was 14% at HD. I bought the 31.45% and hoped I had gotten the right one! :thumleft:

What's wrong with my PH reading?

Thanks pooldv! And one more question.. I'm sure this information is on the site but I couldn't find it.. my acid demand test required 3 drops to get to 7.4. The test kit says to refer to the treatment table which I don't seem to have. Does the number of drops correlate to how much muriatic acid...

What's wrong with my PH reading?

Well that is a bummer, so I will need to continue to lower the pH, probably weekly, for the next year or so? Thanks, I appreciate the help! Thanks richard, I will do that right now :)

What's wrong with my PH reading?

pooldv, do you know of any reasons the pH can rise from 7.6 to this high, with no aeration in the last couple of weeks? If indeed is is because of new plaster, I'm not sure how to combat this.

What's wrong with my PH reading?

Thanks poolingaround, no we do not have any fountains or extras at all, just the basics. Should I do nothing then, and not worry about it for now? Could a high PH cause skin irritation?

What's wrong with my PH reading?

Hi, our pool is only about 6 weeks old. For the first month we had a free service and they balanced the water. I tested it myself and the PH was 7.6 The pool has been drying our skin out like crazy so I decided to test everything again. TA is 90, CYA is between 30 and 40, Ch is 230, and Fc was...

Oops I got a little excited with the chlorine

Okie-dokie, I will follow the advice here. The pool guy was out today to show me how to use the pump / filter so I THINK I remember how to get it to run all night; right now he said it is set to run until 8 pm if I remember correctly. I'll test again soon, and then again after sundown and will...

Oops I got a little excited with the chlorine

jblizzle, I have not been following the FC/CYA chart because the fact that I have a month of pool service made me complacent! Agh, so frustrated with myself. And the kiddos in the pool yesterday were 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. So yea, I am sure there was a lot going on in there :) atttech, since...

Oops I got a little excited with the chlorine

Hi, our new pool was just completed two or three weeks ago; we have only been using it for one week. I am familiar with the TFP method (I use it for our hot tub), but because 1 month of service was included with our pool I haven't really been keeping up on it. Well we had a couple of...

    Thoughts on Child Fences

We had attempted to install one of those fences and honestly it seemed a little flimsy to me (for example, it was difficult to get the peg holes perfectly straight and flush and so we were told to just "bend the poles a bit"). However, seems like most everyone I know uses them, and you really...
