New plaster pool trying to dial in pH

Hahaha fair enough, thanks! I won't overthink it. I'm trying to heat the pool right now for the weekend anyway so aeration has just been slowing that process down quite a bit.

New plaster pool trying to dial in pH

Awesome thanks guys! I read those articles and they helped a lot. I've been trying too conserve my reagents and using the 10mL sample. Given the drop in TA is (unexpectedly) less drastic than the pH drop, that's probably my issue - I'm using the lower-fidelity test and not seeing the drop at...

New plaster pool trying to dial in pH

Hey all! First off thanks to all of you who answer questions in here and write all this content 🙏🏻 ❤️ Awesome site! Okay here we go... 3 months since plaster was sprayed. I'm taking over maintenance from the PB and the pH was off the charts on my Taylor K-2006 - over 8.0. I complained, they...

please help, starting at the beginning

Agreed. Cloudy doesn't sound right. Is this the test you're running to get your chlorine level? If so, the orange bottle caps with the milky yellow is your salt (sodium chloride) test, not FC (free chlorine). You'll want to use the yellow lids and follow those instructions to get your FC level.

Autocover owners - Should we be concerned about the lid pavers moving / falling?

Still waiting 😮‍💨 This PB has been a bit of a disaster to say the least.

Autocover owners - Should we be concerned about the lid pavers moving / falling?

Thanks so much you guys! These 24x24 Techo Bloc pavers appear to weigh like 100lbs each so I think I should be more worried about being able to remove them at this point 😬 Might have to get me one of these vacuum picker-upper doodads: Grabo FXAH-120-Duo Set

Thanks. These are the two posts I already linked above.

Autocover owners - Should we be concerned about the lid pavers moving / falling?

We're at that point where the PB and landscapers are trying to figure out how the autocover guys were expecting the lid to be constructed. Not a ton of guidance and the PB keeps holding up the landscapers so here I am solving another problem. Looks like the brackets are 12" OC and the coping...

    Help/Recommendations for Equip Layout

Thanks all! They ended up getting concerned about passing inspection and started to lay out everything even more dumb. I escalated to the leadership at the builder and they're going to get everything into a nice line. Probably just going to put it along the fence so we don't have to worry about...

    Help/Recommendations for Equip Layout

Thanks for the note about the drain on the filter. It's definitely facing backwards right now. I asked about bypasses and he hadn't even heard of this. He apparently asked the guys at the store and they're just a kit so he's jist creating his own. The JXi LP heater is supposed to have one built...

    Help/Recommendations for Equip Layout

Hi all!! New to pools and building our first one! My PB started placing equipment last week. I have a 12'x4' overhang on the back of my shed I'm planning to put most of the equipment under. I'm not stoked about how things are laid out right now (looks messy) and just found out the chiller needs...
