Need help with in-progress ascorbic acid treatment

Nope didn't add anything at all, aside from the chemicals mentioned in my first post. Whatever it is, is weird stuff. Looking at it up close it looks like small white granules but when you press on it, it just feels like gooey slime. Not granular feeling at all.

Need help with in-progress ascorbic acid treatment

Another follow-up question on this process... After adding the Metal Magic, the pool expectedly clouded up for a day or two until the filter cleared it all up. Out of curiosity today, I opened up the filer and cleaned off the cartridges to see if the cloudy junk would come out. Sure enough, it...

Need help with in-progress ascorbic acid treatment

Ok got it, thanks! For now I'll switch to at least 2x per day for topping it up to 2ppm or so. Then once it holds I'll go up by 1ppm per day or so.

Need help with in-progress ascorbic acid treatment

Quick follow-up question for the group. What's the normal process for bringing the FC back up to normal levels? I started initially by adding enough 10% liquid chlorine to bring the FC up to 2ppm, knowing it would drop rapidly. Checked the next day and it was zero. I've now done that for like...

Need help with in-progress ascorbic acid treatment

Thanks for the help everyone. I left it overnight and it did seem to help a bit more, but I can still see the areas where I dropped the vitamin C tablets are noticeably lighter. Yesterday I used up my 1kg bag of AA from Amazon, so I Prime Now'ed an additional 1Lb from Whole Foods and spread that...

Need help with in-progress ascorbic acid treatment

Our ~15,000gal plaster pool has mild but very noticeable staining across much of the surface, and some recent testing with vitamin C tablets indicated that this was metal staining. The tablets cleared it right up in an area about 6" around the tablet. So I bought a bunch of supplies and was...

Pentair skill for Alexa is showing up now (was removed for a few months). Not yet linking correctly

I just successfully added my EasyTouch system as well, and the Alexa skill seems to be working. It seems that it will only turn things on, but not off. For example, I can "Alexa ask Pentair Pool to turn on waterfall" and that works. But doing the same with "off" instead of "on" just goes silent...

Pentair skill for Alexa is showing up now (was removed for a few months). Not yet linking correctly

I'm experiencing the same error and opened a support case with Pentair. Their response was "We are aware of this issue and it is currently being handled by the appropriate department. Unfortunately we do not have an ETA for it to be resolved and apologize for the inconvenience it has caused."...

    IntelliFlo Wiring on EasyTouch Panel

Made some changes today and also discovered something new in the process. Basically what I changed is: 1. Installed a Pentair-branded GFCI to power ONLY the IntelliFlo filter pump. 2. Repurposed the old Siemens GFCI to power the pump/filter relay, which as before feeds both the SWCG and booster...

    IntelliFlo Wiring on EasyTouch Panel

Jim, thanks for confirming my setup is fairly common. It's so confusing since the filter pump is supposed to be on its own breaker, yet the SWCG should not be powered without the filter pump running. Rocket Squirrel confirmed that with these two on separate breakers, there's still a possibility...

    IntelliFlo Wiring on EasyTouch Panel

The house we moved into about six months ago has an EasyTouch panel, with an IntelliFlo, IntelliChlor, BoostRite, and 120V IntelliBrite lights managed by it. There have been a couple of times where the 20A GFCI breaker will trip, causing the pump to shut down. So far I've always been home to...

New Pool Owner - First Full Test Results

I've been lurking on the board for about six months now, ever since we bought this house that came along with the pool described in my signature. Really appreciate the wealth of information! So far I've been using a pool guy to maintain the pool chemicals, and I've been trying to learn as much...

    Bromine Levels with Ozonator

I recently purchased a house that came along with an above ground spa, which includes an ozonator. I've never owned a spa before, so I did a bunch of research on TFP, did a thorough decon with ahh-some, balanced the water according to the forum stickies that are always referenced, and then...

    DIY EasyTouch to Intellicenter Upgrade?

I think my main motivation is just avoiding spending money on something "legacy". I've seen a number of posts on this forum about annoyances being fixed in subsequent releases on IntelliCenter but not on ScreenLogic, having to slow down your navigation on ScreenLogic to make sure it catches all...

    DIY EasyTouch to Intellicenter Upgrade?

I'm new to the forum since I recently purchased my first pool along with a house we just moved into - extremely thankful for all the knowledge I've absorbed so far. Currently the pool has what I believe is an EasyTouch 8 automation system, with an IntelliFlow pump, Boost-Right pump for pool...
