I think I got spoiled last summer because I kept finding chlorine that was only 2 weeks old. I’ll have to be happy with the Walmart stuff until HD gets some new chlorine delivered.

That spreadsheet made me feel a lot better about the 2 month old chlorine I just bought. I guess it wasn’t degraded as much as I thought. Thanks for sharing! 😊

Wow - that contraption is pretty impressive! It’s amazing how much iron gets trapped in the Poly-fil. I’ve read about putting Poly-fil in the skimmer basket. Does that not work well? Also - I have a sand filter and was thinking of adding Jack’s Magic Filter Fiber to try to filter out...

I always have the hardest time finding fresh liquid chlorine in the spring. The stores only seem to have old stock. I typically buy the HDX brand from Home Depot but right now all of the stores in my area only have chlorine dated 2020 :( I bought a few gallons of 10% from Walmart yesterday...

I just wanted to ask a few questions about your use of Metal Magic. How big is your pool and how much MM did you use? Did your pool cloud up? Did any of the stains return? I’ve done an AA treatment in the past and would like to skip that and just use a high dose of MM if possible.

Has anyone used Metal Magic without doing an AA treatment first? Was it successful? MM claims that it will remove stains from the surface as well as sequester them so I’m wondering if AA is necessary. I’ve attached a pic of my 20k gal iron stained pool.

Moved from here. How would you filter out the oxidized iron? I’ve been battling iron stains for 3 years and my biggest problem is that the stains keep redepositing after the AA treatment. I want to remove them from the pool water. I have well water so a drain and refill isn’t an option.
