Squirrel's were thirsty over Labor Day weekend

What I assume was a Squirrel, must have been thirsty over Labor Day weekend and decided they needed to get a drink from the little puddles that were left from letting our (new this year) pool slowly drain. Does anyone know if they sell replacements that can be glued in to have another drain or...

    Thru wall skimmer placement

I'm sorry, for some reason on my other computer that I'm using now I was signed up as a new user. The intake hose is 1 1/2" and the skimmer hose that will be approx. 10' length is 1 1/4". As a side note is there some way to disable/delete that other account? Thanks, Jason

    Polaris 340 pool cleaner deal

I had been eyeing up a Hayward aqua bug (Wanda the Whale) on Amazon for $117 but haven't really looked around on this forum to see actual user's experiences. If you have any experience with this or can recommend another "budget" cleaner that would be appreciated!

    Polaris 340 pool cleaner deal

Excellent info! Thank you for the insight. I haven't really decided if I am going to be making the purchase of a pool cleaner, I figured I would see once the pool is up and functioning to see how the pool bottom is staying clean. With my pool I believe the intake is up higher and if I'm putting...

    Install through wall skimmer questions

OK, thanks for the clarification. I never even thought about doing that. I guess I thought that having 2 intakes would be best so I could hit the top and the middle but if the current intake is that high doesn't really make that much difference. I wonder what would be easier on the pump, more...

    Install through wall skimmer questions

Thanks for the reply. From the manual I've been studying it looks as if the intake and return are pretty high up. What do you mean when you said you were able to capture one existing hole in the skimmer opening? Did you cut out the intake hole and place the skimmer in that location?

    Install through wall skimmer questions

Now realize, I don't even have my pool or skimmer in hand yet but these questions are keeping me awake at night  I've seen skimmers placed in the panel between the intake and return, is this the best spot? Do people run their skimmers/pumps 24/7 or on a timer? Can a solar cover (i'm...

    Pre-installation advice appreciated

I found that sharpening my shovel blade with my grinder helped tremendously in cutting through the sod and skimming off the layers of dirt. Just be careful as I was careless in picking up my shovel and attempted to cut off my ring finger at the first knuckle!

I read a few of the posts about winterizing and I am on the fence about it.

    Pre-installation advice appreciated

I think I found this while searching and that's where I based what I'm doing off of. I just couldn't find it back again when trying to remember what people used for underneath the pool. I see you are also in MN, do you leave your pool up in the Winter? If so, what steps do you take to winterize...

    Pre-installation advice appreciated

Thanks for the replies guys. cramar - Yes I do have a 4' level duct taped to the board. The pic was taken just after the board was tacked to my stake but before I added the level. I had a heck of a time convincing my better half that I needed to keep going deeper with the stake to get level...

    Pre-installation advice appreciated

I've had a free 15'x42" Easy Set that finally blew the impeller of the filter and slowly leaks air so I'm ordering a new 18'x52" UltraFrame with sand filter to install. I'm currently stripping the sod and starting to level (attached pic) my 19' circle. My question is when rotating my 2x6 there...
