I’ll get a picture later but the cover is still on so there is no evaporation. That’s why I know the amount. I left for work for 10 days and put duck tape at the water level the day before I left.

Maybe I’m over cautious. I would think the skimmer would break apart from ice freezing in it once the water level rises from the snow load of the skimmer was left uncovered.

I saw those online when I was looking but didn’t think they would really save the skimmer from cracking or breaking. It looked like something that would just plug the piping. The water level goes up and down depending on the weight of the snow water and ice on the cover. The cover is waterproof.
