    Replacement Filter Sizing

Is it ok to replace my current sand filter (Hayward 220T) with a Hayward 244T? Will the larger size affect pump performance, etc. See my pool specs below. Thanks

What to Look For When Buying Used Filter

My 23 year old pool is still in great condition. The Hayward sand filter is the original filter and still works well after all these years. Sooner rather than later it will probably need replacement. I have an opportunity to buy a used 2 year old filter - same make and model -for a very good...

    Unplug SWG in Winter?

I live in Florida where we are experiencing an early winter. My SWG is no longer producing chlorine because the water temp is too cold so I'm adding bleach the old fashion way. I have the SWG turned off but I'm wondering if it is ok to unplug the unit? I don't know if it draws any power while...

    Polaris getting stuck behind ladder

My 380 gets stuck as well. I've tried adjusting the climbing levels to no avail. I'd like to fabricate something simple and inexpensive before purchasing the Polaris guard.

I've got the perfect round-ish pool brush and am thinking of making the handle and U out of PVC and gluing the brush into it.

    Something between liner and wall?

I'd just go with the clear patch. I've had my SWG 14 months and love it. No problems so far. I purchased the Hayward because the dealer is nearby and provides good service.

    Something between liner and wall?

I would use a piece of vinyl at least 2-3 inches larger than the area that is protruding. That pool patch adhesive is very sticky and doesn't need much pressure to adhere. Any chance the previous owner left a piece of vinyl liner so you would have a nice match?

    Vacation Prep

I'm thrilled. Returned after being gone 9 days and my pool was still sparkling. I didn't have a chance to put the solar cover on before departing but I did bump up the SWG output %age about 5 points. The neighbor said we had a lot of rain and the water line was almost to the top of the...

Thanks, I'll forget about the polyquat. I do have a solar cover. Didn't even think about using it because my pool is screened in. What is the advantage to using the cover - retain FC?

    Vacation Prep

This week, I'm going on vacation for 9 days. Right now my pool is perfect, balanced and sparkling. It has been that way all summer (knock on wood)! The pump, filter and SWG are on a timer and come on automatically so the water will be circulating and chlorine will be generated. While away...

    What size SWG?

My CYA was over 100. So prior to the SWG installation I drained about 1/3 of the pool water 2 or 3 times (can't remember exactly) and that brought the CYA down to a reasonable number.

    What size SWG?

Here's info from Hayward that notes 1.45 lbs per day but they don't specify running hours, etc. http://www.haywardnet.com/inground/products/displayProd.cfm?ProductID=173
