Mustard Algae? Maybe but it is something

As a follow up. I did the Vitamin C test and was amazed. It cleared this up almost instantly. Do I need to treat my entire pool or can I just wipe the spots with ascorbic acid? I have 3 spots 2 are about the size of a basketball the other is the size of a broom stick. If I need to address...

Mustard Algae? Maybe but it is something

Thank you so much for mentioning this!! Since my water looks so good sparkling/clear I'm going to see if this could be the case.

Mustard Algae? Maybe but it is something

Do I need to have more patience as frustration is setting in? Again my water is crystal clear but I have several brown/yellow areas stuck to the bottom of my pool. I have scrubbed so hard I have bent my pole with out any difference. I'm not sure where to go from here. Is it possible I have a...

Mustard Algae? Maybe but it is something

Almost positive it is not pollen as it was noticeable prior to high pollen counts. If my FC levels are above the mustard minimum (based of by CYA appears to be ~35 fc) would the pool still be safe to swim in?

Mustard Algae? Maybe but it is something

Started a Slam on Saturday. The last 3 days FC and CC have remained steady. (Located east of Atlanta) FC = 31.5 CC = .5 Before the Slam (Friday - 4 days ago) PH = 7.4 CYA = 60 Water is clear and sparkling (and was before the slam) - Water temp over the last week has fluctuated between 62 and...

    Georgia Pool Owners?

Will the cold water cause me to loose FC? Still working the SLAM process and loosing about 4 ppm of FC over about 10-12 hours. Was curious how the cold water would effect this? Pool is no longer green but very cloudy

On another note should I be concerned about the PH when performing a SLAM? I'm not sure if cold water will affect the PH and if the PH would remain consistent in cold water

    Georgia Pool Owners?

Algae started around the end of Sept. or beginning of Oct. Initially we thought it might be dirt from a recently cleared area being wind blown into the pool. When checking my salt system last night it was on "COLD" meaning too cold to convert to chlorine. I plan to SLAM the pool this weekend...

    Georgia Pool Owners?

Mark - I thought about going with the liquid. I noticed last week that HD still had quite a bit left on their shelf plus I have approx 5 gallons at home. I turned off my cell several weeks back and would say 70% of the bottom has algae on it. I was out of town over Thanksgiving and got back...

    Georgia Pool Owners?

Based off my bucket test (all equipment turned off) it appears I have a leak and have a company coming out in a couple weeks. Their request is to have the pool full and clear. Due to this leak and filling up the pool my salt level at the current water level is 2100. Once I fill the pool up to...

    Georgia Pool Owners?

Thanks so much - was hoping/praying evaporation. Had the same problem about this time last year and it was a leak in the main drain. I will try the bucket test over the next several days to try and try to get better handle on it.

    Georgia Pool Owners?

For those Georgia Pool owners in Georgia that have not closed their pools for the winter. Are you experiencing rapid water loss? I have a suspicion I have a leak. We seem to be loosing about 1/2 inch a day. I want to think in is evaporation from the cold nights to warm days but having my...

Can I leave my Dolphin in the pool?

Thanks - Although it would be much lighter, I didn't know if the rubber pieces would get smashed and then not operate as effeciently after sitting on the bottom of the pool between run times

Can I leave my Dolphin in the pool?

Several years ago I switched from a Polaris cleaner to a Dolphin Cleaner. With the Polaris I could keep it in the pool to run daily until we are ready to swim (with the pump on a timer). Since the Dolphin is powered by electric instead of a pump can I leave the dolphin in the pool 24/7 as long...

    Re-Education

Much appreciate it - pool is looking crystal clear as of yesterday with chlorine levels holding. Thanks again to all for your help!
