I tried both sizes couplings, neither fit. The pump is a smart clear 1.5 hp that came with our aboveground kit

The pipe that is inside the fitting is 1.5 pvc (first two pics). The pipe I'm holding against it is 2 inch pvc, it doesn't fit inside the fitting or over it. The outside diameter of the fitting looks to be just over 2, inside is roughly 1 3/4, but I'm having a hard time measuring it with my tape.

My pump came with this fitting. I assumed it was for 2" pipe, but it doesn't fit inside a 2" pipe. I also tried 1.5 inch pipe, but there is a LOT of wiggle room and it's not a good fit... How can I connect to this?
