Net that spans full width of pool for quick two person clean

Our neighbors have some nasty trees and they end up dropping tons of small particles in the pool. On a windy day the surface of the pool gets covered with tree matter within a couple hours. My wife and I were thinking about using a large net that spans across the width of the pool (about 18')...

Difference between a Pentair Hiflow and Multiport valve?

I am replacing the push pull valve that is being used on my Pentair FNSP36 to a multiport. I see that Pentair has two different types, a "Hiflow" p/n 261142 and a "Multiport" p/n 261152. Both appear to be multiport valves though. I am not sure what the differences are or which to go with. If...

Newbie trying to clean up a swamp and have some questions.

Great, that's reassuring. The FC was down to 15ppm about a half hour ago.

Good to hear, I'll test it again tomorrow night to see how far its progressed.

Newbie trying to clean up a swamp and have some questions.

The pool is completely clear as of this morning :) Pretty amazing how much it changed in 5 days. The filter also made it overnight without a noticeable pressure increase. Now we just need to wait for the FC levels to drop, it was 18 at noon today. I'm hoping that it is down to below shock...

What is a good, economical solar heater?

Thanks for the link, unfortunately most of the models I had seen are not rated. It does look like most collectors produce around 1000 BTU/ft^2 +/- 100 BTUs. It looks like the Sungrabber ones are made by Fafco. I'm leaning in that direction now, especially considering that they are less than...

What is a good, economical solar heater?

I've seen a bit of variation between the prices of different brands of solar heaters. Is there really a significant difference? I was looking at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/8-4-x-12-Inground-P ... 286.c0.m14 along with this controller: http://cgi.ebay.com/GL-235-pool-solar-p ... 286.c0.m14...

Newbie trying to clean up a swamp and have some questions.

Thanks, we actually had to move one of those Italian Cypresses because we noticed that it would probably interfere with the booster pump plumbing when we were repairing the hose to the cleaner. We've been keeping the FC between a minimum of 10ppm up to 18ppm a couple of times. I've already gone...

Newbie trying to clean up a swamp and have some questions.

Water is still cloudy, but improving slightly. The pump managed to turn itself off overnight last night, I had it manually set to "on" and wasn't aware that it would turn itself off based on the timer regardless of the manual setting. I got it straightened out and I'm hoping that it keeps going...

Newbie trying to clean up a swamp and have some questions.

Thanks, we definitely got off to a shaky start, but going pretty smoothly at this point. Actually pretty shocking how quickly the water changed color once we added the chlorine. I'll put a skimmer sock in tomorrow. I didn't think to get the CH numbers at this point, I didn't measure the CC...
