    Thank you for such a quick reply. I may inspect the hose going into the pump when it stops raining today. That's the only thing I haven't done. What would a hissing sound mean? Now you got me thinking I've heard that. :)

    This is my 5th year opening a pool and the first time an air bubble slowly develops under the pump cover. What I have done to fix so far: 1) All new plumbing- fittings and ball valve, connected to pump 2) new o-ring and lube under lid. To be honest, I'm so new to this, didn't realize lube...
