Hotspot FPH or indoor heat pump.

ah! I get it now. Okay, back to plan b of the heat pump tied in with the air ducts. At least the house will get cooler!

Hotspot FPH or indoor heat pump.

Is that line not the copper tubing wrapped in foam that exits my air handler and goes to the outside condensor/compressor? It passes right over my pool equipment in the basement. It seems like that copper run of 5 feet in each direction would be shorter than anywhere outside.

Hotspot FPH or indoor heat pump.

Okay. I was using the refrigerant line terminology wrong. So is there any reason the FPH can't be located in the basement on route to the condensor/compressor? What's magical about being outside.

Hotspot FPH or indoor heat pump.

For whatever weird reason, my pool equipment is in the basement of my house, right next to my heating and air system. Using my gas fired pool heater (also located in the basement) is annoying because it heats up my finished basement) and it's loud. I have been interested in the FPH unit...

Using home automation to control Raypak heater

How's it working for you? I was thinking about doing the same thing for control by my automation panel (Elk M1) so that I can just ask Alexa to heat the pool when I know that I am going to be using it soon. Do you just cut that fireman switch and connect both ends of that loop to a relay?

return jets - what size and shape is best?

I have an older pool that I just got replastered. I want to swap out the old return jets because they are discolored or stuck and were never aimed in any intentional way. My pool is basically oval and it only has three jets on one side of the pool. Is there a preferred type of jet? I...

Thinking about auto topping up the pool

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but I would just have one pop up rotor sprinkler aimed and locked in right at the pool. It wont be fast, but it will be invisible when not used, and the spray should easily clear the deck

New Raypak heater - ignition failure

nevermind... user error! forgot about the valve inside the heater as well as the one the heater!

New Raypak heater - ignition failure

I got my new pool heater installed. Plumber did the gas and plumbing, and then had the HVAC guy do the venting. I connected it to 120V, and everything looks like it is working fine from electrical, but it never ignites. I keep getting the error "Ignition Failure no Pilot" I know that it is...

Pool heater recommendation (located in basement)

Thanks! For some reason, I thought all the RP2100s were 206BTU. I did go ahead and order the 266k low nox though after calculating the surface area to be 440 sq.ft and using an online calculator. It's a big space so clearance is not an issue. And my plumber sees no reason we can't run a...

Pool heater recommendation (located in basement)

Just realized that the old Ray Pak 2100 came in a lot of different BTU sizes. Is there anyway to tell by looking at this picture what the BTU was? Vent diameter was 9". Gas line is 1" diameter. Unfortunately, it was sold off to a scrapper along with other old appliances.

Pool heater recommendation (located in basement)

I have a licensed HVAC guy and a plumber (who also installs water heaters). I was going to have my plumber install it, and my HVAC guy check the venting because it looked like the old one shared the vent with the HVAC furnace.

Pool heater recommendation (located in basement)

So I am looking at this one now as it was the cheapest low Nox, digital, Ray-pak that was similar in BTU to what was already there. Does this forum have a sponsor that I should be buying from, or a preferred source? I'd like to give back where I can.

Pool heater recommendation (located in basement)

I got lost looking at the different models. How do I know which one I should get? I know I want digital so I can connect it to automation panel one day. I am located in Memphis and probably will use this in May and part of June, then Sept and October. The existing gas pipe is about 1"

    through wall heat pump vent

I would like to get a pool heater, but my equipment is in the basement (about 2700 sq ft basement). The basement is also used as a gym, and so I am worried that a natural gas heater would make it too hot down there. Heat pump that vents outside would actually be nice because it might...
