Rubber winter plugs and old vacuum line

Thanks a lot for this- that was my concern last year when it was accidentally opened. Looking like this is the best option.

Rubber winter plugs and old vacuum line

We have a 1 inch unconnected pvc line from an old cleaner. It does not run to the pump, it is capped at both ends with winter plugs. Pool guys recommended we keep the line when we replastered just in case we want to replumb it for something down the line. Hindsight we wouldn’t have kept it, but...

Pool plaster- less than 2 years old. Spot etching?

I would expect the pool company to cover some if not all portion of the labor. I don’t even want to go through the headache of redoing it immediately because i don’t feel we can fully guarantee it won’t happen again. I would rather some other form of compensation from the pool company, maybe a...

Pool plaster- less than 2 years old. Spot etching?

@onBalance just a quick update. We continued the conversation with our pool company and showed them the research and this forum. The owner had a better response this year and came out again. He said he will not disappear on us and had the plaster material company come out with him and check out...

Pool plaster- less than 2 years old. Spot etching?

@onBalance thank you for the info- I found a couple photos that I sent to the pool company right before closing last year which I feel illustrates the issue. That first picture is a close up of the dry top step when we were closing for winter- I feel like this is a good view of what is...

Pool plaster- less than 2 years old. Spot etching?

I need to get some photos when there is less wind- it’s hard to take them in the deeper areas, but some of the streaking and spotting is pretty noticeable. Readings now are: temp:81 fc: 2.5 ph 7.7 calcium 240 alkalinity 100 stabilizer:30 salt/tds: 700. I don’t have readings for the water truck...

Pool plaster- less than 2 years old. Spot etching?

Thanks for your insight. I know how diligent I am with testing the water- I can guarantee that 95% of people would not be as crazy as me with testing and balancing. This was an unseen expense on a new house that we did because we needed to replace our leaking skimmer and 40 year old pump. Having...

Pool plaster- less than 2 years old. Spot etching?

Here are some more photos. It is definitely worse in the shallow end around the stairs but it is all over. It doesn’t sand off and the whiter areas are slightly rougher where the sand kind of shows through, I think you can see that if you zoom into the step pic. Also more pronounced on step...
