    Underwater light mounting screw

I ended up just replacing it with brass. My concern was that it was acting as an anode, causing to to deteriorate quickly. When the pool was built, I know the light and light bucket were joined to the bonding system, so I’m not really expecting a problem. I thought replacing in kind would be...

    Underwater light mounting screw

I have a Taylor K-2006 kit. I have a sock full of CYA in the skimmer, I opened with 0 CYA and have been getting the other chemicals into balance first.

    Underwater light mounting screw

Our pool is roughly two years old, and when I opened it in the spring, the underwater light fell out of the (plastic) wet niche. The brass / bronze mounting screw had corroded away. The instructions that came with the light state that the hardware must be replaced with the same type and size...

Pool Possibly Dug in the wrong position in yard - now what?

Don't panic, everything is fixable. Ask the builder to confirm all the measurements. Sometimes an open excavation looks different than the finished product. If it is determined that the hole needs to move, then yes the over excavation can be filled back in. They will need to use a...

pool math app on new phone

I use the Pool Math app on an iphone, with a subscription. In December I got a new iphone, and when I log into pool math all my pool info from last season is gone, and it says I have no saved pools. Is all the data captive to the app, and therefore gone with my old phone?

    Sand filter for new pool?

We also have a short season here in MI, and we have a sand filter. I like having an easy way to lower the water if we get a rainy spell. It also seems to me that manual vacuuming to waste (rather than back through the filter) helps a lot with the water clarity We also have a SWCG, and dump the...

What are the options for controlling equip

We had a similar experience when we built our pool back in May / June. The builder did good work, but didn’t give us much info during design and followed the “rules of thumb” for the equipment I’d suggest you ask your builder for a dimensioned drawing of the pool, plus a complete bill of...

Best "tips" you learned from Trouble Free Pool.

As a new pool owner it’s hard to pick just one, but I would have to say BBB. I’m glad I found TFP before I collected a garage full of pool store potions

Dial back SWCG or keep it as is?

Another first season pool owner here, I’ve done the same, I let my FC drift up to 10 because I get a lot of worms and leaves now that the temp is cooler

Is anybody else (who just closed recently) already missing their pool??? 😟

We are closing ours today. The weather here in SE Michigan has been unseasonably warm all September, so we’ve had a nice long season. The maple trees surrounding our pool are telling us it’s time to cover it up, though.
