    Pool water stings open skin

Thanks so much for all your input in this costas I think you have cleared up alot for many people reading along. I still have a concern though as to what would happen say if someone was swimming with this chlorinator plugged in and it somehow electrically malfunctioned causing a higher current...

    Pool water stings open skin

So we've struggled to get an electrician in our area that knows about pool bonding, we spoke to several that said we dont need to bond it as it's not a requirement in Australia, they weren't really concerned about the stray voltage in our pool as it was only 2 volts ?*?? We spoke to one over the...

    Zodiac T5 automatic pool cleaner

Hmm, I think I'm done with mine, I dont want to spend anymore money on trying to get it to work. I think ill just put it down to a loss and get myself a robot when I can afford it. Very disappointing though, if the product is that rubbish then they shouldn't be on the market anymore. ?

Ok so I emailed astral regarding the stray voltage and this was their reply. I cannot believe nothing was mentioned anywhere regarding bonding the pool and we had no idea about it until I posted in this forum. We've owned 3 swimming pools before this one (2 above ground and one 15 year old...

Oh not good at all, how annoying. I read in the paperwork for ours that it has a positively charged sensor on it which I believe it the blue wire at the top, sounds like it's coming from there to me.

The back of the actual chlorinator where the wiring is looks like this. Is this what you mean?

So my husband has narrowed the issue down to the chlorinator. We disconnected the chlorinator, ran the pump and there was no charge, hook up the chlorinator again and it's back again. [emoji53]

I heard about that incident, just read the article you gave me the link for, poor kid. You seem to have a pretty good understanding of electricity, are you trained or experienced in that field at all? I'm leaning towards thinking the pump is faulty after testing it from a different power source?

    Pool water stings open skin

I wont be playing around with it anymore, I believed the problem was chemicals after the sting ceased and I got all my levels correct until today. I now realised everytime I went out to the pool while I wasnt feeling the sting I did have footwear on but today I was barefoot. From here it will be...

    Pool water stings open skin

So I was holding the black probe, had no shoes on but dry feet standing on the concrete surround of the pool area and I put the red probe in the water, multi meter was set to AC. I more so tested my finger in the bucket of water away from the pool to see if the sting was something to do with...

    Pool water stings open skin

Ok so today I went out to the pool to test the levels and add some stabiliser etc. I got a fresh sore spot on my finger last night where a bit of skin peeled back next to my nail and it's all happening again, stinging my finger and the chlorine levels are right down this time. I grabbed a bucket...

So in Australia there is no requirement to have a fibreglass pool bonded unless there are metal components in the pool? We have pool lights but brand new low voltage ones as the entire pool is brand new.

So I picked up 10 of the bunnings hi-chlor sectional hose pieces today. I have to say the cleaner goes around the pool way better, doesnt get stuck for near as long as it did before, even climbs the sides with it however the joints in the hose leak everywhere causing the cartridge filter to fill...

    Zodiac twist and lock hose

Oh really? That sucks (excuse the pun ?) I have a regular manual cleaning pool hose that I can connect to my suction cleaner to but it keeps coiling up and performing badly, (only cleans one section of the pool in circles etc) it worked alot better with the straighter bunnings sectional hose but...
