Tail end of SLAM, can I get in to brush and remove light?

SLAMming is a fun process! 😎Good luck with your OCLT! I hope I don't have to ever do it again. My husband was surprised at all the chlorine I was using and kept questioning what I was doing and if I was doing it right. I didn't even think about anything being in the light until I read the...

Tail end of SLAM, can I get in to brush and remove light?

That's exactly what I did. 🙂 No visible algae in the light, and I honestly couldn't believe how clear the water was! I must have never been algae free! There was a ton of dirt and concrete chunks, though, I guess from when it was built. But it got a good scrubbing and I am doing one more day of...

Tail end of SLAM, can I get in to brush and remove light?

Morning all, I just passed my OCLT, but am still keeping FC high because I haven’t taken the light out and scrubbed it. Is it safe to get in the water at shock level to do this? I’ve been brushing at least 2x per day, if not more. I had a small algae bloom, and it’s funny because I just...

    2019 Bleach Prices

Not the cheapest around, but my local Walmart just stocked gallons of 10% that is super fresh. Date of 19145. That puts it at end of May. They are 3.64/ gal.

    How to position return jets

thanks! I think I’ve done that. I tried to put some pool noodle slices in to see if I could visualize any current, but it’s too windy and all the slices just pile up on one spot.

    How to position return jets

Hello all, I’m currently mid-SLAM even with that crystal clear water you can see in my pic, pretty sure I have invisible algae. I find greenish build up on my shady side and on my steps. That’s not the issue at hand though. I’ve gotten conflicting advice on how to position my jets...

High Alkalinity fill water, struggling with Ph, calcuim staining

Hi all. Good morning, I opened my pool few weeks ago and am happy to report that after all the partial draining and refilling I did over the winter, my CYA is finally in a good spot at 35ish (from at least 200!). But, my fill water TA tests at roughly 240ppm give or take (managed community...

    2019 Bleach Prices

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I figured they're not good for a year, but at what point do you lose enough potency to make it not worth using?

    2019 Bleach Prices

The 1.99/gal jugs at Atwood don't have a Julian Date, instead have a date that says BB 2/22/20. Does this imply that they may have been manufactured in Feb. of this year and "good" for one year?

Something has gone wrong with the pump

Thank you all so much! This all has been so helpful. It turns out that the pump did indeed need to be replaced. We called our home warranty company and fortunately because we purchased protection for the pool, it was covered. New pump installed today, and by someone who knew what he was...

Something has gone wrong with the pump

Thank you all for the replies. Here are some pics of the equipment and pad. I really never had the time to get into the ins and outs of the plumbing before it got too cold and I no longer wanted to mess with the cold water. I’ve just been keeping up with winter chemicals, which has been easy...

Something has gone wrong with the pump

I came home around 8 pm last night to what sounds like my pump motor making a terrible noise. Kind of sounds like there’s something rattling/grinding around in there. It is still pumping water but was so loud that I turned it off anyway. It has been below freezing here for 2 days so it’s been...

    Newbie North Texas pool closing

Thank you both for the replies. In really appreciate it. I was not given any information on how this pool works so I've been doing it all by trial and error. This forum has helped a lot, but at times I feel like I'm in a bit over my head.
