    Has my pump failed??

Thank you so much Poolbreh! I turned off the power and then cleaned the impeller using the "wire hanger technique".. I was a bit disappointed, because only a few tiny palm nuts were there (see picture). However, when I turned the pump on again, the pressure was back to normal. Fantastic...

    Has my pump failed??

I haven't been active on the forum since the pandemic. Yes- guilty as charged. The advice here has been so good, that I have managed without the need to seek any I suppose. Now I have a problem. I have a Zodiak MX6 pool vacuum. I attach it to the skimmer suction and it's been really...

Good question. I've wondered about Arm & Hammer "Baking Soda". On their website, it's listed under "industrial". According to them, it's sodium bicarbonate. https://churchdwight.com/ingredient-disclosure/commercial-professional/42000845-ah-baking-soda.aspx

Okay, I'll make a quick correction, with apologies here... I used Arm & Hammer washing soda - 100 % Sodium bicarbonate - 12 lbs of it, not 6 lbs, but 12 lbs.

Heavy scaling on the plates of my cell.

A couple of months ago, I bought Muriatic acid, thinking it was the same as CYA... I had my ignorance corrected on this forum - but by then, the pH was 6.2. I fixed the pH with 6 lbs sodium Bicarb (Arm & Hammer). Could that be the problem?

Just checked. Our tap water has a TA of 60.

I agree about the low pH being damaging to the equipment. But, I thought Bleach (sodium hypochlorite) is strongly alkaline when dissolved in water.
