Hayward swimclear: hole in lower assembly to outlet

Cleaning the cartridge filters for the first time today and I noticed a hole in the lower assembly. ( 17 in the diagram ) Not quite sure if it is supposed to be there. It's not a crack that is seeping. It almost looks like a weep hole as water is coming out in a stream.

    Trouble with cloudy water/other issues

The only "pool store" I visit is WalMart & Home Depot. A truly "honest" pool store would have to sell a lot of pool toys and be able to somehow turn a profit while competing with WalMart & Home Depot bleach/acid prices to stay in business. Unfortunately, there is a lot of money to be made by...

Air bubbles from only one of my 3 returns?

Do you notice these bubbles at all when the SWG is off? This sounds an awful lot like normal operation for SWG. My SWG pumps the chlorine gas through my IFC system. Even though there about 3 heads in each zone, only 1 squirts out bubbles.

Salt level climbing when salt has not been added

If you don't want to buy a test kit then you will be at the mercy of the pool stores testing and sales propaganda. Your best bet would be to wait until your SWG is back online and use it to get a general salt reading. In the meantime, I would be more worried about your FC and CH level in the...

Re: New Aquabright Build Near Springtown, TX Here's a few threads for flagstone and SWG. Another-salt-vs-flagstone-thread Pictures-of-Salt-Water-flagstone-or-coping-damage Whenever a natural product is used, there will be trade-offs. Unfortunately sealing doesn't remove all those trade-offs...

converting to liquid chlorine/ how much will I use

The SWCG puts upward pressure on the pH in a salt pool. If this is not monitored and adjusted with MA, most salt pools will become corrosive. However, most salt pool owners dump in a lot less acid into their pools then chlorine pool owners dump bleach/chlorine in. Do you own either the...

O/B in Phoenix - Raised bond beam and decking construction questions

Azgr, We have a similar raised bond beam across the back of our pool. They just poured a footing along the back of the pool's bond beam and built the wall across the top of the new footing and pool bond beam. I don't remember a permit being required by the city.

New Aquabright Build Near Springtown, TX

Re: New Aquabright Build Near Springtown, TX A manually chlorinated pool will have also have salt in it. The salt level will increase each time bleach/chlorine is added. I have not seen any posts on this forum with corrosive damage that was caused by a salt pool. Likewise, I have seen no...
