Hello, I found a post on how to do Deep Cleaning of sand filter. I have a sand filter but it is filtration glass that is in it. Is it possible to do the Deep Cleaning with this kind of filtration? Can it harm something to do it? Is it necessary as if it was sand? Thanks for your advice.

I always premix calcium in a bucket before dumping it in pool. I do it for many years and never add issues. Before doing this it was never fully dissolved and required A LOT of brushing. It is true that the water in the bucket will become hot so be cautious.

For sure it degrades the beauty of the water but I want to evaluate how major is the issue. What I don't know is if there is new bunches falling at the bottom or if it is the existing that are moving.

And another question following one of your answer. If it is dead algae that are gradually deposing in the bottom, can dead algae revive with higher temp coming or dead is dead? If dead is dead, it is less an issue.
