    Leak? Or something more sinister?

Ha! Went back over my work again with the hose. Sure enough it was suction side leak. Splooged a huge helping of dope all around the fitting and its currently humming along, no bubbles. Thanks for the troubleshooting tip guys, helped me out so much

    Leak? Or something more sinister?

Maybe it might be time to replace the filter grids? Been reading and scouring like crazy. This will be our 8th season in this pool and ive yet to replace my filter grids. It does a little better immediately after backwashing, but within a couple hours the bubble returns. That would explain why...

    Leak? Or something more sinister?

So I ran water over all the fittings and that did jack squat. Check this out though. If I ran the pump on recirc or waste--- no air in pump. Filter, backwash-- air in lines. Uhhhh..?

    Leak? Or something more sinister?

Ran the hose over the fittings today and jack squat changed. I dont know man, usually can think my way through these situations.

    Leak? Or something more sinister?

Would having removed the inline chlorine feeder messed with water velocity or am I overcomplicating things?

    Leak? Or something more sinister?

The basket is/was full with minimal bubbles after id go through the fittings. I do NOT have a SWG. I like the hose idea. I was wondering if the "soap and water" trick would apply here. Definitely going to try method 1 out

    Leak? Or something more sinister?

Yes it happened while the pump is running. Brand new O ring for the pot lid, lubed up and all. The skimmer basket is mostly clean and empty. I can remove the weir door to test but I see it flapping loosely as it should. Im getting tiny bits of bubbles on the surface of the pool above the returns...

    Leak? Or something more sinister?

Older DE pool filter, ill say 15 years old. Pentair LNS. 25k gallons. Working on opening this year and ive had problems with air getting in my filter pot. I had to replace my multivalve this season and had to rerun piping as well. Used silicone where needed on all of the fittings as well as...

    Replaced some piping. Potential issues?

Update. Backwashed tonight and that cleared it up. How would the pressure rising cause an air issue?

    Replaced some piping. Potential issues?

Let me add, I had to add CYA 3 days ago, that seems to be about when this all started. Do I have a blockage in my skimmer line?

    Replaced some piping. Potential issues?

pentair pump, cant tell what hp, too faded. Got rid of in line chlorinator so it was 2 less holes to worry about sealing up and I never used it. Just replaced with a straight line of 2" pipe. Now my pressure is running higher, was around 10-12, now its pushing 15 psi and im getting a little bit...

Maybe the real techs can help me

Things are progressing as they should now. Had to wait to backwash because of the CYA but it should clear up a bunch today. Never heard of an ammonia issue being a thing before this year.
