    Dollar General Concentrated Bleach

Last year I bought most my bleach at DG. Their concentrated bleached was 8%ish. Went yesterday and their regular bleach and concentrated bleach both show 6% on the label now. Typo or con job? Anybody else notice this? Grey

Thank you Texas Splash. I'm gonna add some dichlor shock to the pool to raise cya because I have some laying around. Question about the pool calculator effects of adding chemicals. When you switch it to adding dichlor to the pool, is it using the 99% concentration dichlor? importsnt to know...

    Cloudy Water

Seems to be a theme lately. 2 weeks ago in DFW area we had a ton of rain. Our pool had a ton of rain and dirt runoff enter the pool then 2 days later we flew out for a week to El Salvador. Now back. Started a slam Sunday and continued through yesterday. 2 nights in a row of a good OCLT...

Thanks. I have no stairs. Need to get behind light but ran out of time. Plus I didn't want to cut power to pool with the pump running 24/7. I'm Working 24 hours today but will get it tomorrow. Having my wife add a gallon of 6% every other hour through tonight.

No I ran the 10ml. I meant to put maybe 1.25. Last night was 28.25-28.5. This AM was 27-27.5. Hard to tell honestly because there is a definite change from pink to clearish but it never goes truly clear or colorless. There is always the faintest hint of light purple, but it's a definite transition.

No it was new from Amazon. Less than a week. New solution came from Leslie's. But OCLT this AM had me at 1ppm maybe 1.2 loss of FC, no CC and crystal clear water. I'm Declaring success.

Last post for tonight. My FC test has been reading 30-31 all day. Ran out of reagent r-0871 on second to last test which read 30. Added 1/2 gallon 6% bleach to get me to 31. Rechecked 1 hour later with new bottle of reagent. Read 28.5?? Rechecked and read 28.5 again. Guessing some...

Thanks. It's a pain in the arse, but worth it i think. Bottom of the pool is clean as a whistle and holding within 1ppm fc shock level every 2 hours in the hot Texas sun. maybe tonight is the night. If not the wife might kill me.

hopped in the pool with goggles on. FC=30 found as many black spots as I could and scrubbed them off. The spots oxidize and turn a dull gray with violet/purple, but once you scrape them off there is green underneath. Hopefully that will do the trick. Been doing my FC samples this afternoon...

found a stainless steel brush in the garage. The black spots laugh at the nylon brush. FC at 33-34 currently, so I am going to wait a couple hours and let it come down before I hop in the pool and scrub.

Well my hope got the best of me and I ran an OCLT. Fc down from 31 to 22, but CC held steady at 0.5 so added 5 more gallons of 8.25%. Almost out of Reagent. Black spots seem to be fading. Have brushed the pool 4 times in the last 24 hours.

Thanks for the info. I don't have a 5ml line but I do have a medicine cup I can use to put 5ml into the tube. Last question for the night. Started this at 4pm, I know it can take days for a SLAM to pay off. Am I better to try and do an OCLT overnight tonight, or dump more bleach in than I...

Alright after 1 and 1/2 hours the fc dropped from 31 to 28. Added another gallon and 1/2 of 8.25% bleach. The fas/dpd test tube still had the tinniest bit of pinkish purple to it, so i went up to 70 drops from 56 and it never truly cleared, so I chose 56 drops when the first color changed. So...
