Getting others thoughts on what to add

Hi All: Just got back from a 2.5 week vacation. Tested water this morning. Here is where I’m at. Been getting a lot of rain while I was gone so I’m not surprised. Pool is crystal clear so no serious remediation needed, I just need to bring my numbers back in line. Link to my Pool Math results...

    Dolphin VS Pentair

Whichever one you can get the best deal on would be my vote

    Green pool!!!!!

How long ago did you put the Phosfree in? I recognize you said no phosphates but that stuff when bound to phosphates will produce some pretty slimy gunk too. I’d agree with mknauss though on questioning the test results... Sounds like quite a mystery though...

    Green pool!!!!!

I know you said you tested for metals but my vote would be that there is copper in the water and with that constant level of chorine its being oxidized to what I’m sure is quite a stunning Statue of Liberty green.

    Debating on phosphate removal

I get pool stores are there to make money and sell you stuff. Stuff you don't need. My own test yielded the phosphate results. Not the pool store. I went to the pool store to ask what they had on the shelf to correct it. It was all of $30 if I recall so not exactly going to break the bank...

    Debating on phosphate removal

I completely agree with the quote in the OP's post: "I fully understand that phosphate removal does not prevent algae. It's just removing a food source. At best, it makes it a bit harder for a bloom to start if your FC/CYA levels drop too low." and get that phosphate removal is unnecessary as...

    how to remove copper

I’ve used culater metal remover bags with ok results. Mine took a while to absorb. Wasn’t exactly an overnight drop in the pump basket change but it did seem to help.

    Debating on phosphate removal

I consider dropping 2000 ppb a success. Seems to me I maxed out the volume of phosphates that a single dose of Phosfree can bind with. Most people look to get down a few hundred ppb or like the OP’s pool a high level at 2000ppb. My pool was almost 5000 ppb which is an extremely high level to...

    Florida Pool Rookie

Hey All - Figured I’d post an intro thread. I finally after 3 years decided to take more responsibility over my pool maintenance. Had a pool service for about a year but got tired of paying $100 / mo to watch the guy spend 10 min running a brush around my the pool while talking on his phone...

    Debating on phosphate removal

I can give you my experience with partly removing phosphates out of my pool but it was with a cartridge filter. My pool has run consistently clear but with phosphates in the 4500ppb range. Like you I debated doing anything about it since I just kept up with my chlorine levels. I decided to just...
