    Sorry ! It's just so frustrating since we're in 3 weeks :(

15+ Days of Slam.. Still cloudy :(

We get so much pollen during the spring I was hoping to minimize how much the pollen is working against us. Chlorine loss has been minimal for well over a week now. I can take it off if you think it'll help.

15+ Days of Slam.. Still cloudy :(

Last night I backwashed and didn't add DE. Today it's still looking about the same :( Should I risk clarifier? Or keep waiting?

15+ Days of Slam.. Still cloudy :(

Good call. Will the sand filter get the DE out if it's getting back in the pool? My method for adding it sucks because I don't have a skimmer, I have to detach the intake hose, fill a 5 gallon bucket with water / de, turn the pump on suck it up, turn the pump off, put the intake hose back, turn...

    Cloudy Pool Trouble

Congrats, your water looks like mine today! :( As others recommend, have you done a deep clean of the sand filter yet this season?

15+ Days of Slam.. Still cloudy :(

Hi all, Been slowly opening my pool since around the 6th of May, about a week in I deep cleaned the sand filter (and cleaned the pump too!). Been keeping FC around 12 as I am slowly bringing CYA back up (currently slightly lower than what registers on my taylor test, just ever so slightly - but...

    Clear Backwash but lowered flow...

Alright so I deep cleaned and just my luck the replacement pressure gauge arrived this afternoon so I installed it. Got it all put back together and discovered... Still not as much throughput as I expected and the pressure was very low. So then I had the bright idea to take the pump itself...

    Clear Backwash but lowered flow...

Hi all, Been doing a SLAM to open the pool this week. Keeping chlorine levels SLAM Level (actually a bit higher because the pool isn't at my house and I'm unable to attend to it multiple times a day). My sand filter throughput is visibly slowing every day, to the point where the strong outlet...

Dealing with Pollen, A Nearby Tree, and Solar Covers

I have a 16' above ground pool that year after year I've battled tons of pollen from a nearby tree. Keeping the water crystal clear becomes a full time job for the first half of every swimming season, and our swimming season is short because mid august the pool falls into the 50's in temp :(...

OCLT passed, water is getting clearer, but not blue

So we just had a big rain storm just after I last posted, and here two days later the pool is looking different. Definitely less green. I haven't had a chance to add sequesterant nor use the polyfill bucket again. I'm thinking this may have been at least partially pollen after all. Still not...
