We get so much pollen during the spring I was hoping to minimize how much the pollen is working against us. Chlorine loss has been minimal for well over a week now. I can take it off if you think it'll help.

Last night I backwashed and didn't add DE. Today it's still looking about the same :( Should I risk clarifier? Or keep waiting?

Good call. Will the sand filter get the DE out if it's getting back in the pool? My method for adding it sucks because I don't have a skimmer, I have to detach the intake hose, fill a 5 gallon bucket with water / de, turn the pump on suck it up, turn the pump off, put the intake hose back, turn...

Congrats, your water looks like mine today! :( As others recommend, have you done a deep clean of the sand filter yet this season?

I have a 16' above ground pool that year after year I've battled tons of pollen from a nearby tree. Keeping the water crystal clear becomes a full time job for the first half of every swimming season, and our swimming season is short because mid august the pool falls into the 50's in temp :(...

So we just had a big rain storm just after I last posted, and here two days later the pool is looking different. Definitely less green. I haven't had a chance to add sequesterant nor use the polyfill bucket again. I'm thinking this may have been at least partially pollen after all. Still not...
