Oh, and for the frame...yes it will rust fast. Our first ultra frame lasted about 3 years and then fell apart from rust. I sprayed my replacement with rustoleum paint and I am going to try and leave it up year round this time to see if it lasts longer. I think it's cheaper than the neighborhood...

I've had 3 and they all fail at 24 1/2 months, just outside the return policy. They have perfected just enough coating on the metal plates to last 2 years and no more. The units are fine, but the electrodes die. As mentioned previously, you can buy a replacement for about 80, or a whole new unit...

I want to bump this old thread. I just purchased this same pool to replace a rusted Intex 18' which is no longer produced. What did you use for the return connection into the pool? Is it the same plug reference above? If so, what connects to the plug to the 90 elbow?

I cut a couple to try this. A little snug is an understatement. I'm not saying you can't, but it was well worth the $1.25/box end fitting IMHO to be done with it. I don't think I could have gotten them on in time with glue...I could barely fit it on with a screw driver prying.
