    New build in South Texas

The travertine skimmer lid/cover looks outstanding. How did you have that made? Did the stone guys just cut it themselves out of a paver? How thin is it? Thanks in advance. Love the look.

    Ledge Lounger

WOW - doing another search I found one on Craigslist for only $250 NEW. Great deal for someone (not the color my wife wants...). Here's the link if anyone is interested: http://houston.craigslist.org/fuo/4542033982.html

    Ledge Lounger

We are building a large tanning deck for just the purpose of putting a couple loungers on it. These Ledge Loungers are certainly steep, but we've decided we are going to take the plunge and invest in 2 of them. Our pool is about 8-9 weeks from finishing (hopefully - we just started), so I'll...

Pool size - what is considered "a large pool"?

Thanks for all the help folks. Very helpful pics and comments. I'm meeting again with the builder tomorrow and may stretch the width a bit. But don't have the room to make it longer. I love the current shape and design so don't want to mess with it too much. Mainly just wanted to get a...

Pool size - what is considered "a large pool"?

I had my pre-site meeting with the PB yesterday and he spray-painted it in the yard. That's why I'm asking. It "seemed" small. (And he said that's a common reaction when you just see it painted and not dug). But dimension-wise - it suggests being a fairly nice-sized / large pool. Looking...

Pool size - what is considered "a large pool"?

I'm more concerned about surface area, in terms of do I have enough so that 4-6 people can be on floats at the same time? (We are a family of four, and may have another family of four visit frequently).

Pool size - what is considered "a large pool"?

My current design is about 114 perimeter, and around 41 feet long x 20-23 feet wide. About 23,000 gallons. I have a large yard and want to make sure i don't get the pool in and think "I should've gone a bit larger." So I do want a "large" pool. Not small or medium. Does that size seem...

What do you guys consider a "large" size pool? (length x width, or perimeter, roughly)

    Another pool north of Dallas

Very nice outdoor kitchen! We are building a house right now and one of our bathrooms is getting Bainbrook Brown granite. It's definitely a nice color/granite. :D

    Which upgrades to start with?

Hard to say - it's all personal preference. But here are some of the "upgrade" type things we wanted to have. - Definitely have to have a spa for us. So easy to heat it up at a moment's notice to hang out in the spa when it gets colder, versus planning ahead to heat the pool. - We did expand...

New Pool Build in Granbury Texas

That's great! I have a perfect backyard facing bedroom window on the second floor. I'm going to do this for sure. I've been intrigued with these cameras for a while, but now I have a really good reason to pull the trigger on one. Very cool. Thanks for the information.

Design question-spa placement with hindered view of pool?

The advantage of a spa on the far side of the pool, or something like that, is that you can make it a focal point or a centerpiece to the design, etc. If you have a fountain in the middle of it, that adds to it. Plus - you can don't have to worry about the view blocking the pool. The downside...
