Cool yeah im torn about going with sand but like the idea of the water being "cleaner" with the cartridge.

Thanks too late went with all 2 inch.... im sure ill have to replace the pump at some point so i guess im future proofed now.

@JamesW How do you test this? I have all my 1.5in piping exposed on an older pool do to a leak and want to upgrade to 2in while im at it. I thought larger is better but could the 2in actually cause me issues? Moved from here.

Where did you order from? Is this the newer model that doesnt have the side handles that were prone to cracking?

I would say this analogy is off as you will use less gas going slower in an already efficient motor with less horsepower than a motor with more horsepower. So by mearly going slow you might be reducing engergy consumption but not as much if you had less Hp. Best, Justin
