Bids on Semi-Inground vs. Inground... Where are the savings coming from???

I agree. If the excavators find groundwater under my land that could lead to the liner float (which there very likely is water), it will be an additional $3,500 to pump the water out! I really wanted to have an inground pool, but spending another $15k or so (half the cost of the pool!) on a...

Bids on Semi-Inground vs. Inground... Where are the savings coming from???

Yes, we built the house 3 years ago and the excavator really screwed up from what I’ve been told... Lol. We had a few pool companies in for quotes, and they were all shocked at how the excavator graded my yard. I do believe that part of the problem is being at the bottom of a hill, there is not...

Bids on Semi-Inground vs. Inground... Where are the savings coming from???

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately all of the pool bids I have gotten said that a retaining wall is required, as we are at the bottom of the slope. My neighbors on top of the hill (seen in the picture) just had a pool installed 2 seasons ago and they did not have to do a retaining wall because...

Bids on Semi-Inground vs. Inground... Where are the savings coming from???

I'm definitely not looking for a backyard oasis. We just want something that the kids can swim in, but we do want it to look nice. I think that sticking an above ground pool in the middle of our yard would look tacky. The semi-inground seems to be the perfect in between, as having an inground...

Bids on Semi-Inground vs. Inground... Where are the savings coming from???

Thanks for the replies. The big thing for me is avoiding the retaining wall. My yard is very sloped and we have problems with stormwater, so covering as much yard as possible with a deck would help the issue.

Bids on Semi-Inground vs. Inground... Where are the savings coming from???

The Radiant Grecian technically is an above ground pool, but it is designed to be installed above, semi, or completely in the ground. You can add a "hopper" bottom (deep end) and walk-in steps as well, so it truly would feel like an inground pool. The price isn't really a factor, I'm just...

Bids on Semi-Inground vs. Inground... Where are the savings coming from???

Hi all! I am going to be getting a pool installed in the spring. We're still in the planning phases and going over all of the options... We live at the bottom of a hill, so to do an inground pool right, we would have to do a retaining wall. We are located in Pennsylvania, and the first quote we...

Need Help Designing Pool/What to Upgrade!!!

Hi all! I'm going to be getting an inground pool for next season and am still in the planning stages. Deciding whether to go with a local pool company or order one online and hire an independent pool contractor... I was trying to design a pool at Royal Pools website, but was unsure of what...

    Need Help Choosing Pump/Filter

Thanks for the reply! Still in the planning stages and comparing quotes from private pool contractors vs. the local pool companies. They have all been using Hayward pumps, so I’ll have to check on the warranty for those.

    Need Help Choosing Pump/Filter

Thanks for the reply! Got a quote from a local installer today that was $5k cheaper than the other ones I received... Definitely reconsidering the “order online” route. I did not realize that the warranty of the pump would be voided if it is not installed by an actual installer... Something to...

    Need Help Choosing Pump/Filter

Hello! Been reading through the forums for a while but this is my first thread. I'm looking to order an inground pool kit online within the upcoming months and have it installed (not by me.) I was looking on the Royal Pools website, and one thing I could not determine was how you know if a pump...
