    Mysterious Leak

Blah... That wasn't it.. Or at least it wasn't the only one. After I let the silicone set for 24 hours, I filled the pool back up, and let the pump run while at work. I came home and the water was looking much better, but had dropped low enough for the pump to lose it's prime. I shut it off, and...

    Mysterious Leak

What's good to use to seal that off? Will silicone be destroyed by chemicals? I'm pretty sure that's the problem as well, as the water level has dropped just below the skimmer..

    Mysterious Leak

I've been slowly filling my pool to see if at a certain level it leaks, and I haven't seen it drop. Once the water reached the level of the skimmer, I noticed water was going in, but nothing was going into the skimmer. After getting down there, I noticed there was a crack that the water was...

Hello! Thanks for the reply. The waste line isn't hard-plumbed. It shoots out into the yard.

    Mysterious Leak

Towards the end of last pool season, I realized I had a leak somewhere in my pool. After doing some searching, I found a moist spot on the ground, and dug it up. I found that a tree root had partially pushed the main return line out of a rubber connector, which I'm assuming was from a previous...

    Push/Pull Backwash Piston

I have an old push/pull backwash assembly, and I believe the internal O-ring is leaking. I'm going to replace it, but I also noticed that the 2nd piston is moving freely. Is this normal, or does it need to be stationary? Seems to me like it could just slide to the other piston and cause...

    Kind of milky, cloudy water

So I started putting DE into the filter, and it started coming out of the jets. I took the top of the filter off, and there appears to be a layer of DE on the sand, unless it's something else... Not sure what's going on here...

    Kind of milky, cloudy water

I have a Kokomo(sp) kit, and the CA tube has a decent sized gap between the 20 and 30 mark, so I estimated. The water is still really cloudy. When I was vacuuming, I'd notice that when I hit certain spots, algae would shoot back out the jets. Now I'm just getting a white powder shooting out...

Ok. I'll bring the shock level back up, and see what I lose overnight! Thanks!

    Kind of milky, cloudy water

Hello, I've recent swapped from a DE filter, back to my old sand filter last week. When I got everything back going, the water was a blue-greenish color. I dumped 1 1/2 cases of Chlorine in the water, plus 3 bags of the calcium chloride in, and some algaecide. I also vacuumed and brushed the...
