Reading the recommendations on TFP makes me concerned pool care is too difficult.

At the very bottom of this page, under "Quick Navigation" is "Old PoolMath Webpage". Plug in your numbers ... Size, Now, Target, Bleach & Muriatic Acid concentrations. I use it all the time. Very handy and fast.

Bought a home and over my head

I'm thinking there should be a Diverter between the skimmer basket and the 2 pipe holes at the bottom of the skimmer. The pipe forward to the skimmer is the main drain. The pipe to the back of the skimmer goes to the pump suction..(filter)There should be a diverter valve there ,

Using salt in liquid chlorine pool

I'll be maintaining top end of recommended FC for my CYA number, for sure. Thanks for your input on salt. Will look into the K-1766 kit.

Using salt in liquid chlorine pool

So, I add one gallon LC 10% (during the summer) to my 13400 gal pool per week, that adds 16 ppm salt per week. I need 125 g LC to get to 2000 ppm salt. That's 125 weeks to reach 2000ppm. Correct? Would it hurt to speed the process by adding salt?

Using salt in liquid chlorine pool

I was wondering the same thing. How much salt is added from LC and Muriatic Acid? Assume that depends on amounts. So, would it be unreasonable to add salt to a Non-SWG pool to achieve 1500-2000 ppm?

New owner AZ, first water change

Put half that 5lb bag in a sock, tie it off in the skimmer with pump running. Squeeze the bag every 30 minutes or so. Run pump overnight and check CYA tomorrow. Creep up on your CYA to not overshoot.

Those products are exactly what you need. 👍 Note the date on the liquid chlorine. 20 309 indicate the 309th day of 2020 or Nov. 4, 2020. Fresh stuff. And yes, pebbletec is considered plaster.

New to owning a pool, this doohicky is squeaking...

It's a Korky toilet tank fill valve. Find the water shut off to it, note water level, unscrew valve and install new, set water level, turn water back on. They are about $10 at HD. Lots of YouTube instructions.

Reviving out of service pool: FG & deck Refresh

Water seems to stop leaking at about 1" above skimmer basket - too low to run skimmer. That's why I'm suspecting the cracks. Posted some pics earlier today, so maybe they'll help? crack pics Many thanks for stopping by. --------------- Look at the "crack pics" link.

Yes, I've read the links. Will take a week or so to gather stuff for the exchange.

    Question about CYA

Ok... I have a delima. For the last week & a half, I've been using Liquid Chlorine exclusively. It's been close to 1/2 gallon a day to maintain 15ppm FC, due to high CYA (numbers above) So... It's been hot here for the last 2 weeks (105F+) and is going to be that hot for another few weeks, until...
